It took me a minute to like the '85 Low. Wore white/grey probably 5 times before i was sold. The curve in the midsole you spoke on was the main reason. Literally the only thing these are missing is the larger swoosh and i believe one less eyelet. But they still feature the best colorways and feature pretty nice quality. They just have to be a travis customizers dream.

But I can’t get over the smaller swoosh and narrower toe box… As far as action figures go I used to collect DBZ and Star Wars figures. The original tongue material is called sail cloth. It was originally used because it held up better, had a tighter weave than nylon at the time and is supposedly easier to clean.

I had been collecting a lot of SH Figuarts over the years. NECA had a nice run on Ninja Turtles figures (I still need to get Ralph in his trench coat). Check out ThreeZero line for Transformers. I’ve been sticking to their MDLX figures just to keep all my transformers to scale.

I did recently see some cool actions figures, they were a cross between Power Rangers and TMNT. The turtles were in Power Ranger gear, pretty dope! I also have all my old Ranger toys from the 90s.

I love AJ1 OG lows but I agree the materials have been a bit cheapy lately. Imo the Mystic blues from couple years ago were the best in quality and the black toes, other than those all AJ1 OG lows have been crappy. Cool review!

BTW, I think Chris meant NECA when it comes to Alien, Predator, & Robocop figs; Super7 does some cool stuff but not those licenses (sorry for being THAT guy). I collect a lot of Mezco ONE:12, SH Figuarts, etc. which is only made worse because my friend owns one of the largest new and vintage toy stores on the east coast. Like these 1s coming out right after the black cement 3s, knowing I’ve got $500 in Mezco preorders popping off at the same time, is already a problem. Heaven help me if he buys a sick collection this weekend too. 💸💸💸😬

kind of a dumb question but... Is there a way to bleach out the Sail on the sole? I know it can be done on old shoes but what about new ones?

Good question. If the rubber is manufactured in the sail color then it’s unlikely. But if the rubber is treated to look a certain color then it may be possible much like you can treat a yellow midsole/outsole to regain the original white/clear look.
