From an OG’s perspective… I was 15 years old in 1986 when these J’s originally dropped. I was a freshman in high school in Detroit and let me tell you……these shoes back then were POLARIZING. Back then Adidas ruled the streets (at least in Detroit). So Nike was #3 on the MUST COP list behind Adidas, FILA and Gucci. The Jordan 1’s were cool but they didn’t shake up things like the Jordan 2 did. The thing about the Jordan 1’s for us was the Color Blocking…but besides that the shoe didn’t move us. But when that Air Jordan TWO dropped!!!! People were like 😮! The whole silhouette was BUSTING!!! The white shoe with black shoestrings was BUSTING! The black midsole was BUSTING! And lastly the “made in Italy” LIZARD skin was BUSTING!!! 😂 To this day the look of the Jordan 2 stands out in a crowd…so IMAGINE how much they stood out in 1986 when 90% of basketball shoes looked similar to each other! We LOVED the Jordan 2 in 86 but it was hella expensive. Another shoe had just dropped….FILA tennis shoe was around the same price and people were rocking FILA velour track suits with the FILA tennis shoes! Micheal Jordan was NOT that guy in 1986 like he would be a few years later….so that was another reason EVERYBODY didn’t have the Jordan 2. But by the time the Jordan THREE dropped it was OVER!!!! 😂 The Jordan 3 put everybody on their a$$! It was TOO MUCH! It changed the sneaker game FOREVER!

I'm happy about that but unhappy at the same time because the shoe deserves it's respect at the same I don't want this shoe to sell out now since people like it all of sudden it remains my favorite Jordan shoe and I plan to double up like I did when they dropped in 86.

When these first released in the 80’s they were very well made with premium materials. As mentioned, Italian leather with superior craftsmanship. I’ve always dug the two’s and thought they were a clean and sophisticated.

After getting the Citrus 7s and Fire red 3s earlier I thought the Lost and Found Chicago 1s would be my last Jordan purchase of the year. Little did I know that I need these 2s also! I’ve only had one pair of 2s which was the 2010 Black and white which my mom got for Christmas! Nostalgia is crazy

I’m 51yrs old. Jordan fan from day 1. Hated the 2 from day 1. Until now. This particular release and this particular color way only. And I doubled up. The history, the nostalgia, The 1987 dunk contest from the free throw line, the 86-87 season with a phenomenal 37.1 PPG average for the entire season, his first scoring title, and of course because of the hate. I had to have them. And Nike released them in its Best looking color way, made the toe look nice instead of square. Nike understands the hate for this shoe so they came hard with the goods. From a collection standpoint and the history behind the shoe even from the point of hate which is part of the history, it’s a true Grail pick up.

These are sick. But one thing that's bugging the absolute hell out of me - all this purported attention to detail, but they're still one plastic eyelet short (well, technically four total) - the original 2 had four plastic eyelets, not three like the 3 (and a lot of the other 2s since the OG).
