Great review dude! I missed the detail of the color contrast in the tongue and that puffiness of the material difference, and the measured placement of the leather that you pointed out. Them details matter for sure. 🤙🏼

I think the collectors want everything to be like the original, but for comfort and expense purposes some things have to change. Also i believe that jb changes things purposely to differentiate them easier.

I totally get the original shoes from the 80s and 90s were made for performance and now the retros are more for casual. My biggest issue is when something on a previous retro is executed almost perfectly and then the next release they totally botch it. If it isn't broken don't fix it, there should be improvements on every release over time.. like we see on the Air Jordan 3.

Have the 06 retro and the 22 pair 06 has softer leather and the back tan with the 23 the colors are inverted, the paint on the peaks is glossy compared to matte on the 2022

Yeah, I remember the back tabs with the inverted color blocking, never was a fan of the glossy midsole finish either I think it looks cheap lol

Cool man, those are amazing first pairs! Black infrared 6 for me. 92 I really wanted the playoff 7 especially after seeing MJ and the Bulls in person VS NY in the playoffs. I really wanted a Sega genesis as well..lol ffwd to 93 I got the playoff 8. Decisions..😆

I think just one retro had metal tips, OG was always standard laces. Same with the 22 release

Always great presentation. The personal artwork & memorabilia from the era just always adds the perfect touch. Aside from the Og 1991 air Jordan 7 run, 02-09 is the era in terms of refined shape & quality we need to see bare minimum. 04 Olympics, Cdp hares, chambrays, 02 true-reds & French blues had some of the best shapes for a Jordan 7 ever they all were good, looked perfect on foot. Most of them keep a decent shape over time my blk-true red, citrus, and flints from back then look great for them to be worn this long. I remember back in 07/08 a picture of a 2001 Bordeaux Feng Tay Taiwan sample surfaced, I thought we were going to get something like that when they came out in 2011.. but sadly the decline in quality started to happen already with those awful Orion blue 7s I knew then it might be up shits creek after that😅

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! The quality has been up and down but I agree that earlier retro era was good. Now it seems like they are trying to improve the materials but the attention to detail needs to be there, especially on these OG colorways. They can do it, just look at the 3s for example. Hopefully we see that transition into other models moving forward.

@@ogorbust1697 yes I agree the reimagined 3 is proof they can do it, even how they’ve tweaked the 4 over time trying to get closer to the ‘99 shape w/ the toe box has gotten better. I still have faith in the brand, I think they know by now we’re loyal to a fault.

@@Solefixated 4s need a super overhaul. Even the 99 doesn't show the original shape justice. I hope they start from scratch whenever they do decide to bring back an original colorway. Black cement 4 is one of my top 3 shoes all time and that 2019 retro was atrocious. I couldn't even deal with it, sold them lol

Oh yeah, 7s are amazing. Personal love for seeing MJ play in them '92 playoffs. Just a great silhouette, hat I found on ebay. We got the black one back in 92, always wanted a new white one. Took some time lol

When we were teenagers, he lent me his new Air Jordan 7 Cardinals to hoop in at the park when I didn't have basketball shoes. He ended up giving them to me for nothing other than just being friends. Brings back so many memories. Going to get him this pair as a thank you.

To be honest I’m 7 guy to me it’s the best Jordan. But the quality in the 2022 is better and it’s more comfortable. Yes it’s a bit different. But you can’t make it exact like the OG. They make it same there Basically killing the OG pair. So let’s just say the 2022 pair will be the OG in 10 to 15 year and the 1992 pair will be the OOG

@humblelife6471 I really love the leather on the 22 retro, a solid release and comfortable. The bootie really hugs and supports too for the ankle. I just wish they kept the same specs on the tongue as the remastered it would've been a perfect retro. A lot of my points with retros are how they have something correct and mess it up on a later release when it was perfect. Consistency is key. At the end of the day, these are probably best retro Cardinal to date

I tried a pair of the 2011 cardinal 7s, they were used , made my feet look like Shaq feet. Fit huge so I ended up selling them. Not crazy about 7s, out of the original colorways I only like the Olympics and Charcoals(not raptors). Are you going to do a comparison of the fire red 3s?
