Thanks so much for watching Coaches!! Quick question, as you coaches know every video I create is for YOU so please comment on this thread and let me know what you would like to see a video about. And also, don’t forget to pick up your FREE Offensive drills if you haven’t yet: bit.ly/FREEdrills

You can also run both on a straight vert seam and the Y break off at 14 and the F Continues on the seam, though your Y would need to be off the ball to facilitate a clean release. Switch concepts are always open because high school kids can't be coaches to give the BANJO call to swap receivers. There are only three NCAA coaches who coach there defenses to consistently and effectively use BANJO calls...Pat Narduzzi, Nick Saban and Mark Dantonio and two of those are directly in one's coaching tree.

I agree. That's why I love switch routes and don't understand why more coaches don't use it more.

Awesome channel coach.. Some of the formations, like crazy and swapping will be practiced and implemented.. We run it very similar, but vs a 2 high defense we implemented reading the boundary safety or single receiver side. inside receiver doesn't automatically go across, he runs 4yds then breaks reading the safety. If the safety rolls to 1 high. we have 1 on 1 backside or receiver going to seam. if both safeties open up, then inside receiver pushes straight up the middle and by the time qb takes his 3 step he just opens to middle of field, and we where so wide open this year.. vs 1 high identical to your scheme.

Thanks coach. Let me know how it goes. I'd love to implement reading of safeties but I never had the patience in practice. What kind of drills do you use to teach your players what to do?

awesome stuff as always. just a suggestion: can you include cut ups of this being ran in a game? it helps seeing how the defense reacts

@@CoachMcKie Thanks for the list, I have been working through these at a break neck pace. I was wondering If anyone has every compiled a list of coaching resources. Possible in the form of a Google doc that has information broken down by specialty, I.E. Defense, Special teams, Offense, ECT. Just an idea.

I run the same concept out of3 by 1.. But y runs to inside foot of safety then stems back to hash.. More spacing.. Y switch is beauty

I've tried it from 3 x 1 but I keep going back to the 2 x 2 version. I'm a purist, I guess.

What’s even more deadly is motioning from a 2x2 to a 3x1 stack or “Special” as you call it and snap the ball right as they stack. Especially if they don’t follow the motion. Also I have motioned my #3 out to a stack behind my #1 and ran 4 verts switch out of it. Haven’t had a team cover it right yet.
@CoachMcKie5 жыл бұрын
I never thought about motioning to special. I bet that would mess the defense up.

Coach J, with the second call you mentioned, which receiver took which landmark (i.e. front side hash, back side hash, front side numbers)?
@user-bb7vj7di8r5 жыл бұрын
PhillyEaglesFanatic If Im starting out in 3x1, The initial alignment has to be a little tighter than normal for #2 and #1 to make sure they can get to their spots. #3 when he motions out to stack #1 will become #1 and had the numbers. #2 becomes #3 and has backside hash. #1 becomes #2 and has playside hash. Most of the time the new number two will be wide open because that corner has to bail out of that to cover the outside go route

Do you think a 100% stack offense would have success? Or would too much stack give defenses a chance to figure out how to defend it?

Also I run the bunch one yard outside the hash and motion my RB outside the bunch to #1 and run 5 verts with tags out of that. When it was stopped the only thing stopped it was inaccurate QB. Nobody can defend it
@CoachMcKie5 жыл бұрын
Nice coach. I've never motioned out with a RB unless it was push motion.
@user-bb7vj7di8r5 жыл бұрын
@@CoachMcKie Yep. Fast motion him out and get set. The CB is in a bind at that point and there is no #2 defender because he is already locked on #2. causes some havoc on defenses.
