For those who are having trouble on how to play this game on Windows 10, please use QindieGL. How to use: 1. Download QindieGL at github.com/crystice-softworks/QindieGL/releases/tag/1.0 2. Add the registry key information into the Windows Registry. 3. Extract opengl32.dll into the directory that contains the game's executable file, 4. Run the game, and make sure that QindieGL.log should automatically be created upon launch. Then the game should work just fine. Special thanks to @flooosha for the idea!

I remember playing this game with my sister on the common family laptop. I pressed the Up, Down, Left and Right keys on the laptop to maneuver the helicopter gunship, and she pressed the Shift and Ctrl keys to fire guns and missiles.

How much I wish this game would work on Windows 10. The Nightmare difficulty is as hard as it sounds, one mistake and the whole level is ruined. But it feels so rewarding when you get to land your burning helicopter.

About the lore of Air Strike 3D and sequels: I think the game is based on real wars, in AS3D, we are actually fighting for NATO (in the first game we are flying in american helis, the Apache and Commanche) and we are fighting the Iraq army in Operation War On Terror after 09/11 happened, in contrast with Iraq army in 2001, NITO heavily uses paramilitary units and russian vehicles, in one of the missions General Snake mentions NITO operating smuggling operations which is could explain why there are NATO vehicles and aircraft on NITO's control. The Operation W.A.T on AS3D's title could mean War agaisnt Terror referecing real life Operation War on Terror. AS3D 2: Dont know much, probably also takes place in Iraq while Op War on Terror is happening. I'll mention, one of the player's helicopter looks like a modified russian MI-35 AS3D Gulf Thunder: Takes place in 1990 Gulf War, one of the levels is a long highway with a a lot of ground enemies and civilian cars, which could be a reference to the Highway of Death on Gulf War. In the level Prototype of Evil (level with the huge nuke launcher jeep) at the end of the level we see the Victory Arch which was a monument for Iraqi soldiers, not much relation to Gulf War but it does confirm we are fighting in Iraq. In short: AS3D is based on real wars, War on Terror and Gulf War, we are NATO fighting the Iraq army (NITO could possible mean: New Iraqian Terrorist Organization)

Same here. My sister pressed the Ctrl key to fire the guns, and Shift key to fire missiles, while I maneuvered the chopper. Later did I realise, that it actually happens in real life, in which the pilot flies the helicopter gunship, and the co-pilot operates the weapons.

Fun fact : MyPlayCity's version changed the names of the games. Air Strike 3D 2 was renamed to "Air Force Mission", which is still a cool name. As for Air Strike 3D, it's renamed... "Helicopter Game", MyPlayCity should've just kept the name "Air Strike 3D" instead of renaming it to something so mundane.
