Nice video my friend! I would like to know what band size are you use to herbicide, fungicide and insecticide in your plane, and what band size are you use to make fertilizers. We are with Airtractor 602-65 for operation in Brazil, but I don’t know which size the band for operation this model. Tanks for your attention and have a good works forever… 🤝

Thank you! In the 802 I use 75’ for all liquid spraying at 3-5 gallons per acre. Fertilizer is 90’ for 100 lbs and I decrease the swath 3’ for every 25 lbs over 100. So for 200 lbs per acre I would use a 78’ swath. The 602 will be the same with dry fertilizer but a little narrower on spraying. In a 602 I would spray liquid at 70’

I love the Air Tractor aicraft. I have been in the aerospace biz as a machinist and assembler for 34 years most all of it commercial and military. I have worked for Boeing , Lucas , TRW aerospace and now for Parker Hannifin corp. I machine and build EHSV servo valves that go on the actuators that control the flight control surfaces of most anything with wings. It is mostly fly by wire stuff now. If it flies it probably has a Parker valve or component somewhere. Not a lot of spray planes around here anymore with the introduction of the big ground spray rigs. I still love to watch them fly. If I am driving I will stop and watch them if I can. Fly on my friend and be safe...........

Patrick, where are you located? Just wondering what you are spraying this time of year.

That video was recorded in the bootheel of Missouri in August. I believe I was spraying fungicide on beans.

How many feet of airstrip is comfortable to operate the AT802?

A paved 2000’ runway is all you really need.

Great videos patrick! Thank you for posting. Have u ever accidentally, inadvertently in the beginning touch down in a field, bounced ? Or maybe there is only one outcome if that happens. 2nd, if ur plane of the day takes 500 ft radius to make a given turn with no flap,, how much will flaps in shorten it.? Best guess man thank u!

Only once in my 7,000 hour career have I accidentally touched the ground with my wheels while spraying. It was a non event because the field was worked and smooth dirt but that is something that isn't much of a concern. It did get my attention, though. I dont really know your answer to your second question but I would assume the flaps improve the efficiency of the turn by 20-50% depending on how heavy the airplane is loaded.

@@pcohen85 ur answer iam just now seeing..not sure why,anyhow.. Thanks Patrick for getting back to me.. A few times in a piper or 172 I've played crop duster,,fields I know, only to 20ft agl. U have to work to force a plane to go down in a dive..although I don't see it,are u on the trim all the time?

@@ronnieandpatriciamackinnon4958 I only use the trim to adjust for the changing load. I do not use it to ease the pressure of the control while turning. I want to know how much work I am asking if the wing and using trim will mask how hard the tail and wing are working.
@ronnieandpatriciamackinnon4958 Жыл бұрын
@@pcohen85 so as ur load lightens, u can feel how much effort ur asking of ur wing.. as u go ur turns become lighter less eventful.. Makes perfect sense.. Thanks again. Gonna have any new vids out in the near future?
