@@en_erik6429 Sometimes even that. When you change planes at LHR, you are subnected to a security control although you have been checked at another EU airport - even if you don't stay in the UK but fly on. I'd count that as "after".

@@en_erik6429 When you finally arrive after a long flight, exhausted, and you must still endure 20 minutes for ground control to clear the plane for landing, 15 minutes of airplane taxi, 20 minutes for the parking spot to be available, 20 minutes for the doors to open, 15 minutes of corridors, 30 minutes of passport checks, 45 minutes waiting for luggages (and if you're unlucky, 10 minutes of customs check), more corridors, 15 minutes waiting for a taxi, and a good old traffic jam... arrrrgh... ;-)

Richard Boureston - Main well yeah that's normal. If there's not an available gate then you'll have to wait. Planes get airport slots for a reason. If they're too early, they're too early for their slot, so they'll have to wait.

Another way to state altitude is above sea level not the current land. Like when the flight takes you over mountains it’s not based on the land directly below. As you check the route information it doesn’t adjust to the changing landscape below. That might freak some people out and cause a panic. Especially if they just woke up and read the in-flight route information to see where they are; then read the altitude of their flight as it rapidly changes based on ground level. Haha
