Hello Thank you for that great video I have a question. I live in South Florida. Is this air conditioning sufficient enough to keep it cold in the heat of the summer in South Florida to one of my biggest concerns like what is the ambient temperature when it's 95° out? It's a big concern of mine and buying this trailer. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for watching. In my opinion, I think it will struggle in a T@B 400. May even be too little for a T@B 320. Unless something has changed in the way they operate now vs then. Reason is the warm air return location and the fact that heat rises and cool air drops. I feel that the roof A/C's work best because of how the air circulates. Hope this helps.

I have a 2020 320S. The fan does not stay on when the compressor kicks off. Not in low med or high fan. Everytime the compressor kicks off so does the fan. THAT is what disturbs my sleep, because when it goes on and off there is a huge disruption in the sound level. IF the fan would stay on it would not be so disruptive. The recall fix, removes those louvered vents. NuCamp did my recall.

AC consums around 1200W. Your generator (solar or gasoline) should be able to provide that amount of power constantly (not just peak). If you buy lithium packages, it's around 2kw in usable batteries (100aH * 2 batteries * 12V = 2.4kW). So, ac can constantly run for about 2 hours in theory (in practice, not more than 1.5 h) . That is constant run, by the way.

RV Reviews by The Air Force Guy I’m picking up my 2020 T@B320 S boondock next week and am hoping that all will be fine with it, but I’m a little concerned about the air conditioner being under the bed, and the vents being on the undercarriage near the back tires. Hopefully these are just worries that won’t become problems.

I recently purchased a new T@b 400 that has the Air8 and we've had some issues with it cooling effectively during temps in the upper 80's-90's. Come to find out that there is a recall for a mod to the air vents located on the bottom of the trailer. Have you heard anything about this? If so, could you do a video addressing it??
@TheAirForceGuy5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. Basically , the fin that you see in this video is removed and it is just a screen which allows the air to blow straight down. It did help with the cooling of the A/C unit. I will do a video showing it for you.

@@TheAirForceGuy Thanks.. We contacted our dealer and there is in fact a recall to perform the mods. My hope is that my unit wasn't damaged due to running it with a lack of airflow.. We shall see...

Thanks for the heads up. I was told it was 8,000 the first time I spoke with someone at Elwell Corp as well as a few other things that are not correct. My second call they told me it was 6,500 btu's and needed to get back to me after he got back in the office. Hi Paul, I have a 2021 Tab 320S and we are new to having an RV. Thus far have only used shore power camping but would like to get in some boon docking. We did not get the Boondock model because we wanted to make sure it fit into our garage height-wise so don't have solar. I am looking at either getting a solar package added or getting a solar generator. Interested in one large enough to be able to use the AC but have no idea how to use a generator to do that. Any tips??

I got my 2021 unit a few days ago. AC doesn’t cool and turns off after 3 or 4 min. E7 error. I took it in. They said it as a wire. I didn’t believe it. I had already told them the AC appeared to be misplaced and maybe moved in transit. They said that was totally normal and you should be able to see the outside from the inside of the camper. I knew that was wrong. I moved the unit over so the exhaust feeds out instead of back into the camper like it was. Now I have super cold air. Obviously I need to leave a really bad review for the dealer BUT what can I do now to keep it in place. It isn’t securely in there. It’s now in place with the bars installed in the floor but I can see it bumping out on a rough road. Suggestions to keep it put? The blue strap doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

Call NuCamp. They redesigned how it is held in place and they should get you taken care of. Best of Luck

Paul, what's the main reason they went with the new ac unit. Looks way more expensive than a window unit. How well do they cool here in South Texas summer, I've heard they can't keep up (Window unit). I really enjoy your enthusiasm, good luck and God Bless.

@powderriver24245 жыл бұрын
The only disadvantage, and probably no way around this unless customizing something, is water intrusion in heavy rain or wet conditions.
@richardobannon63015 жыл бұрын
So that means that the new air conditioner uses 200% more electricity than the window unit??
@TheAirForceGuy5 жыл бұрын
The window unit used approximately 6 amps and the Air8 is 10.8 amps.
@baileymoto5 жыл бұрын
Is it correct that I’m seeing 32a LRA (Startup amps)? At 115v, thats nearly 3700w. That’s getting up there in generator size requirements.
@TheAirForceGuy5 жыл бұрын
This is only a 6,500 btu A/C. No it does not mean it draws 32 amps starting up. here is the information between RLA & LRA: LRA or Lock Rotor Amps in its unabbreviated form is the current draw of a motor when the rotor is locked. ... Comparing this to the RLA, run load amps, it becomes obvious that LRA is significantly higher than RLA. If a compressor is drawing it's LRA, something is very wrong. Hope this helps.

Paul, does this mean that the 2020 TAB 400 has a lower overall external height since the AC is not mounted on top?
@TheAirForceGuy5 жыл бұрын
The T@b 400 never had a roof top mounted A/C. It was mounted up front under the dinette last year and before. Now it is moved to under the bed and the tongue weight is lower.
