Thank you for sharing your experience with us very helpful for a beginner like me trying to gather up as much knowledge as I can before I start to use my air brush I got a few different air brushes to find out which better fits me. Not the most expensive air brushes to practice with until I get good them maybe I'll step up.

I have two siphon feed airbrushes; one is a HF (Harbour Freight) Chinese knock off that I use for lacquer paints. I've got another, a Badger 155 Anthem that I use for acrylic paints. The siphon brushes can be set up to use a colour cup as well. The best of both worlds.

Man, you helped me tremendously, you did a great job explaining a lot of stuff I just didnt know. I paint model trains, and im thinking with my low output compressor I may need to start doing a gravity feed brush. Thanks for the info...

Are the caps on the siphon bottles interchangeable between airbrushes? I'm referring to the tube that inserts into the body of the brush.

Thanks for the video: 1 - Would the siphon airbrush on a Sparmax TC620X be strong enough to spray 2k automotive clear coat? 2 - I've seen videos of spraying upside down (for automotive application), would it be possible to do this with a siphon airbrush. The reason being I damaged the underside of my front bumper & I'm hoping to rectify with an airbrush.

one thing i never realized about the siphon feeds, until i bought a gravity feed, is that the siphon cup gives something to grip a finger on for better control of the brush. i find my gravity feed so hard to hold on to, which has always been an issue i am guessing, and that's why we now see the grips on them, ala, the grex. another biggie, is the gravity almost makes no sense to me, in that the cup is directly in your way, blocking your vision. i don't know if i will get used to that.

another one is siphon feed use more paint while you can just put a few drop in the gravity cup and paint.
@december23647 жыл бұрын
That's true. But what I do is mix up a jar-full of paint and when I'm done, pop a little lump of blu tac over the jar nozzle. It's still good to go a couple of weeks later. If you want it to last longer, wrap some plumber's tape round the jar screw and put the lid back on. You'll be able to go back to it months later and it'll still be usable after a stir up.

thats exactly what im searching answers for .. the siphon feed has much more paint im comin from spray cans .. graffiti so the siphon would act more similar .. then switch to the gravity feed for detail smaller work

I noticed that the siphon air brush is similar to the one my son-in-law gave to me. The difference is that the one you are using has a black rear housing on it versus mine which has a red rear housing on it. The problem with mine is that there is NO brand or model number on it so if I needed to get new replacement parts for it I would have no idea of what brand to look for to purchase the parts. Can you or anyone else tell me what brand and model it is??? - Thank You sir for a great instructional video.

+brandonhughes7 i got a master compressor airbrush kit and it came with the master e91 siphon airbrush but i am getting really seriously pissed off about now since the instructions suck and are in chingrish, it came with another lid that the air hose can connect to or something instead of connecting it to the airbrush part itself, and some extra metal fittings that i have no idea what they are for or what they do i have not seen anybody talk about this there are no instructions and i searched for videos and there are none i have no idea what these other parts are for ,it seems like they could be used to set it up another way but i have no idea how it goes or which setup is ideal for which situation nobody anywhere has any explanation i never seen anyone in any video show or talk about these paets the instruction don't tell you jack shit about it there is a hookup on the bottle screw lid that can go to the compressor but there is no siphon tube like on the other lid thought there is some large screw connection with a valve on the inside of the jar lid in the center but nothing i have can screw in there and on the outside of the lid in the center it has an adjustable screw valve or something , does anyone know what this shit is for?
@TesserLink9 жыл бұрын
Andrea Mitchell i have used one of those. there is an extra piece that connects to the air supply and that is for portable air tanks like a air can that it connects to. and i believe the other metal fitting is if you want to connect it to a larger air compressor like i do. hope that helps.
@andreamitchell47589 жыл бұрын
brandonhughes7 yes thanks i finally figured it out it is for connecting it to a can of compressed air instead of the compressor it really threw me off because it looks just like the lids for the glass siphon paint jars but it doesn't go on there it goes on the top of the can of compressed air

This is very well done. It is curious that the video is reversed. Notice that he is unscrewing the paint cups clockwise and screwing them on counterclockwise. I did not know video could be flipped. Nonetheless solid presentation of differences and pluses and minuses of each type.

I don't recommend following any of this mans advice do to the fact that all his equipment is so damn dirty and crusted with dried paint that all you will have is problems with your airbrush being plugged up with chunks of dry paint. Rule number #1 with airbrushing is KEEP IT CLEAN!!! I've been airbrushing for over 35 years and to this day I even go as far as straining my paint EVERY time I fill an airbrush or a bottle. Dried crusty paint is NEVER good!!!
