Scanned u tube and watched a couple of modellers and they didn't help. Stumbled across yours and saw your brush is exactly same as mine. Watched your tutorial and now it's working and adjusted as it should. Thanks for a very instructional vid. You saved me from embarrassment and asking my model outlet to put it back together. I know this is an older video, but it was EXACTLY what I needed! I got my airbrush used from a friend, and after playing with it for awhile, I lightly cleaned it and packed it away. Fast-forward to a year later, I needed it for a project. Of course it didn't work properly because I hadn't cleaned it properly, but after pulling it apart and thoroughly cleaning it, I was baffled by the secondary lever guide, which fell out before I could see where it was. I also had the trigger in backwards. So, thank you SO MUCH for your clear, concise video on both cleaning and assembly! I'm definitely adding it to my favorites!

@LomisPlayground5 жыл бұрын
Full disassembly isn't usually necessary--most of the time, I just run clean water or airbrush cleaner through after I'm done using it and then remove the needle so it can dry completely inside. I only do a full disassembly and cleaning like this every few months. Of course, if you're using your airbrush every day instead of just on weekends like me, you'd need to clean more often. And if any problems pop up along the way, cleaning never hurts!

Good video. Using the big compressor, you still need to have your external regulator and water trap vertical to trap water. I just got an airbrush same one as yours. I started out in 1981, with a full size siphon fed gun for painting cars. Now I have a gravity feed HVLP gun too. Some 0-rings need silicone oil. Your Badger oil is a safe bet. Polyurethane automotive primer, paint and clear coat only need 28-34psi. Your big compressor is overkill. And yeah, you need to use that regulator so you don't blow up your airbrush. Working psi
@LomisPlayground3 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, the big compressor is way more than anyone would ever need for this. But since we already had it and I have the separate regulator and a regulator on the tank itself, it makes sense to use it... Plus, it has the great benefit of being able to fill up the tank and then get an hour or two of airbrushing work done after kids are in bed. I am sure my neighbors also appreciate me not running a compressor in the small hours of the morning!

Question how do you open the Cup? Mine is too tight.
@LomisPlayground4 жыл бұрын
Mine does occasionally get stuck--since the edges of the lid are ridged, I usually grab it with a silicone potholder to improve my grip and pry until it eventually pops off. If the vent hole on top of the lid gets clogged with paint, it can create a bit of a vacuum too which makes it really hard to remove, so I keep a sewing pin handy to poke through and make sure it's not suctioned on.

I see this video is old, but when connecting the quick release to the airbrush use teflon tape as it gives a more sucre air connection, as well when connecting the quick release to the air hose. If you have a g76 or g79 which allows you to switch cups of different sizes, use teflon tape also.
@LomisPlayground5 жыл бұрын
I do use teflon tape, actually, where needed. :) The rubber seals in the hoses I bought have been plenty for an airtight seal on the quick release and the smaller air hose--I use teflon tape to seal around the connections to my regulator, which is a leaky piece of junk I probably need to replace at some point.

In the long run is the Master G233 a good brush? I'm about to buy my first airbrush along with a compressor w/ tank,and going to be primarily using it for painting Lexan/Polycarbonate RC Car & Truck bodies. I was told since RC paint is thicker to get a good compressor with tank and an airbrush with a 0.5 mm nozzle and this has I believe 0.2,0.3, and 0.5. So my question is more along the lines of is this a good brush for what I plan on using it for and a good brush for a beginner?
@LomisPlayground6 жыл бұрын
I haven't used a whole lot of airbrushes so I can't speak from a standpoint of a ton of experience, but I found it to be an excellent brush for the price. No airbrush is necessarily beginner-friendly just because there are so many parts and so many things can go wrong, but this one was my first and once I figured out the correct ratio for thinning paints to work with each needle the brush came with, I never had difficulty doing anything except super-fine detail work... which is probably more my lack of finesse than anything. A friend with a lot more experience was the one who recommended this brush to me, and I'm sure she wouldn't have told me to buy it if it wasn't going to be a good option, you know? That aside, though, you're totally correct that a 0.5 needle both handles thicker paints better and gives broader spray patterns, so that makes it ideal for laying down large amounts of color. If you're curious, you can see me using this airbrush on a project in the first half of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2PWiJx3ebVohcU Since I was using acrylics, it took longer to get coverage than you'd have with lacquer or enamel paints, and I also was using the 0.3mm needle so it wasn't as broad a spray pattern as you'd get with the 0.5, but it's a good start. :)

If you check this? I followed this video, put back together but in paint cup, it blows back not out??
@LomisPlayground4 жыл бұрын
Blowback in the paint cup usually means a blockage in the nozzle, but it can also mean a seal isn't tight enough or the needle isn't pushed all the way in. It's hard to diagnose the issue without seeing it myself in person, but I'd take the nozzle apart and check carefully for blockages--it's okay to clean the metal parts of the nozzle with acetone if you don't see anything but suspect a blockage, just don't get it on the rubber gaskets or they'll turn brittle :)

@LomisPlayground6 жыл бұрын
That depends on how well you clean it after you use it. I run water and a bit of cleaner through my airbrush after every use, before the paint dries.Then I remove the needle to prevent it from rusting as it dries. I only have to do a full disassembly like this a few times each year, as long as no paint gets dried inside my brush. Everyone's needs will be different. If it's not performing well, it's a good idea to give it a good cleaning. :)
