I really appreciate this guide. I tried this without guidance and didn't get the effect I wanted. This is going to help a lot! I am doing different colors and tests for the Indomitus and Command set Necrons. I think I'm going to tie them all together with a single glow color despite slightly differing armor schemes. Again, this technique will let me do that.

Looks amazing mate. Well done! Could this be applied for a Votann weapon glow effect? And is there a cheeky way to do it without fluero paints?

I just started Warhammer last month and have my first 500 point Necron army to paint. I feel really comfortable with assembling and playing the game, but painting is where I have no experience at all. Your video helped me decide on a color scheme for my skelly boys. I want to do their skulls/face plates in a dull silver or white; same with the blades which I'd like to add slight blood spatter onto as well. Thanks for the great content - definitely subsribing! EDIT: I don't suppose you have any tutorials on how to do blood effects on blades or armor?
@PelicanPainting2 жыл бұрын
My advice for blood effects would be to paint the weapons a bright colour. Possibly white or a light silver. And then using something like blood for the blood god. Quickly brush a streak over the weapon the same speed it would be swung But less is more with things like blood, Can look messy for sure
@Karate-xt4sk Жыл бұрын
Best looking blood paint is blood for the blood god from gw if you haven’t used it already

Man, i think my game ink red came wrong, caue its super-duper strong.
@Karate-xt4sk Жыл бұрын
Would this work the same if I just swapped the red out for the colour I want the glow
@PelicanPainting Жыл бұрын
Yeah basically If you use a darker version of the colour for the “outside glow” and then a light shade for the core you should be all set !
@NecrOdium Жыл бұрын

I used the same colors as you but it looks way more pink/magenta rather than red in your video. Am I doing something wrong?
@PelicanPainting Жыл бұрын
Oh really ? Well how strong of a coat did you put the red layer over the white ? Of course the weaker you apply the red, the pinker it would look
@marcmann100 Жыл бұрын
@@PelicanPainting I switched the red for a light cover of doomfire magenta and then mixed the fluorecent red with fluorecent magenta from AK and got a very nice result with your steps 😁 Can you recommend a good white base paint. I am using White Scar and I hate it 😅
@PelicanPainting Жыл бұрын
@@marcmann100 oh sweet sounds like you found something that worked for you ! Nice one And to be honest i find white so difficult to find a brand that isn’t chalky But in my experience, with airbrushing i’ve had good results using ready mixed airbrush paint for the white “createx colours is a pretty good brand” Or if i’m brush painting i’ve got on okay using windsor and newton acrylic artists paint that comes in a tube that you thin yourself if needed Hope this helps
