In the Pledge/Future video, what size spray tip did you use? thanks

I Apologize for taking so long to reply, I used a .6 in the video but I have a .25 that I have used as well with no issues

If you use it for pledge only do you still have to brake it down to clean
@NotSoAverageBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Yes, any clear coat I use I always break it down to clean simply because you can’t see it to tell if there is any left so I always give it a proper scrubbing to be safe

Good points.............Do not get all hung up on the Future Klear mentality. ANY floor wax works the same and as well.

Hey. I was wondering what the coat looked like when it dried. Does it give a flat or gloss finish?
@NotSoAverageBuilder4 жыл бұрын
It’s more of a semi gloss. It’s more on the gloss side though lol but only slightly.

@@NotSoAverageBuilder I see. Would it work as a buffer for acrylic panel line wash and weathering after primer and base coat?
@NotSoAverageBuilder4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely it would! That is exactly what most people use it for! I wouldn’t use it for a legitimate final top coat because it can yellow over time but with a proper final top coat it is an amazing buffer in between steps

Anyone know what the new name is? I can't find anything with "future" or "c/klear" in the name 🤷♂️

Does it have to be Pledge Future finish or can any other brand of floor finish work?
@NotSoAverageBuilder4 жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% sure on that. But I do know that the Pledge is essentially just a clear coat for your floors (that’s the what the “Future” portion is) I’m sure there are other brands that do the same thing but I haven’t found anyone using any other brands lol

Can it protect paints from enamel thinner or zippo fluid?
@NotSoAverageBuilder5 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question, I might have to do some tests on that because I’m not sure exactly.
@TotemoGaijin5 жыл бұрын
I think so? I've read about people using this before applying an enamel wash, which is thinned down enamel paint.

Does regular airbrush clear not work on the pledge?
@NotSoAverageBuilder4 жыл бұрын
I am not 100% sure about that. I do know that many people have said it can work but doesn’t work as well but I haven’t tried it myself.
@kenshin73himura703 жыл бұрын
I suggest you rinse AB with hot water a few times over then regular cleaner. Not necessarily need to take airbrush apart.
@TotemoGaijin5 жыл бұрын
Looked it up, it's labeled as "Revive It" now. I've screwed up enough kits trying to use Tamiya's panel line accent color over an enamel or lacquer clear coat, and when you try to clean the excess, it just chews through everything, so I'm curious to give this stuff a shot.
@NotSoAverageBuilder5 жыл бұрын
I have since used it with enamels and it held up pretty well to the panel line process and cleanup

@@NotSoAverageBuilder Good to know! I'm working on the MW-01 Mobile Worker from Gundam The Origin right now, and thought it'd be cool to give it more of a paint scheme similar to Caterpillar heavy equipment, but mostly because it reminded me of the power loader from Aliens.

@@NotSoAverageBuilder I picked up the Pledge today, but I also found that Mod Podge sells a rattle can of acrylic clear that I'm curious to try out. I don't have problems with Rustoleum or Krylon colors, but their clear goes on a bit thick for my taste. I don't have the space for an airbrush setup.

I would give it a shot lol it’s always fun trying new stuff out on gunpla! Oh I completely understand that my friend! It takes up a ton of room to have an airbrush system especially with a spray booth.

I used this for my Sazabi ver. Ka. It turned out really good but the Tamiya accent color left a barely noticeable stain where I cleaned it with lighter fluid. Ronsonal was the fluid I used

Try hitting it with some diluted with water isopropyl alcohol. That should remove the staining

I have been using future for a longtime, I paint sofubi monster toys with an airbrush then hand paint and then seal with future using a brush. I noticed sometimes humidity can affect the top coat with future, do you have any recommendations or suggestions on how to deal with this? Maybe its the future I use that needs to be replaced? Thats what I am going to try but I love the look of future and its always fine in a dry climate like Colorad or Arizona but NY in the summer for example I noticed issues. Also I subscribed....please let me know if you have any pointers or anything helpful at all, I just wan to make sure my toys are well protected and not tacky or sticky at all in humid hot climates....take care
@NotSoAverageBuilder5 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, future is an amazing product. That being said I have only brushed it on a few times. I would say that in a higher humidity environment the reason it effects your future sometimes would probably be the thickness of it. When the humidity is really high I would do it in multiple thin coats. Higher humidity=longer drying times, so if you have a thicker coat the top layer dries but the majority of it doesn’t get to dry causing issues. There are some people that say it yellows over time but I have yet to see that. Also, thank you for the sub my friend! That means a lot.
