I have said it many many times. Don’t be like me and skimp on important parts for your airbrushing needs.
What do I mean by this? Well, the compressor is the backbone of your airbrush setup. It’s what keeps you going and without it you wouldn’t be able to airbrush. Luckily an awesome company thought of this and that company is SprayGunner. They created their “NoName” brand of airbrush equipment that exceeds expectations.
This video covers their “Tooty” airbrush compressor.

Nice review. I got lucky when my little compressor died I still have a 30 gallon twenty feet away in the garage and while it's ten times as loud as the little guy, I can go a few days between charges! Thanks for sharing.

I just ordered a no-name compressor, this is my first airbrush compressor and didn’t want to buy a real cheesy one, hopefully it will last me for years. Cool video, thanks for the info

Great review!! I have the No-name Master Blaster II compressor from spraygunner and I love it. Just one thing about your review: a 1/6 HP motor is smaller/less powerful than a 1/5 HP motor. That said, having a tank means it doesn't need to be as powerful since it doesn't have to constantly run.

Thank you my friend! I have heard good things about their master blaster series. You know I work with fractions every single day at work and for some reason I had a brain fart with that one lol thank you for pointing that out ha ha at least I got the tank part right though.

my first compressor was this junk one for $20, it was smaller than a mac mini, had no air storage tank and the pressure was awful, but i mainly got it to see whether airbrushing was something i wanted to continue in. When i upgraded to a slightly better airbrush i went ahead and dished out $100 on a compressor of the same design as this videos one, hoping i wouldnt have to upgrade in future. that was nearly 5 years ago and its still going strong. Id highly recommend getting one

We all do it lol especially when first starting out. It’s scary spending serious money on something you don’t know if you’re gonna keep doing or not but once you make that mindset up it’s a great investment. That gives me much hope with the decision I made :)

Thanks, Chris! "re-badged Chinese machines" is what sold by many other brands around the world and that's why we decided to call it "NO-NAME" instead of coming up with some cool name. It's branded as non-branded!

@@NotSoAverageBuilder yes, Sir! We started small, now they arrive by thousand and overall defect rate is less than 2% (super low for the Chinese manufacturer, it took us a lot of time to find a good one). But still, they all come "naked" and we test every single one while applying stickers on them.

@@SprayGunner I'm not a builder but a watchmaker and soon I'll be buying the Tooty for a new idea I've come up with as an alternative to the extremely expensive watch cleaning machines that are out there. I like the idea that you bring them in, run and inspect them before you sell them. That's about the next best thing to being made in the USA without the high price. Did my homework and you guys got the job.

Not sure if I agree with the No-Name compressor being better. I have Master Blaster Airbrush Compressor by NO-NAME Brand, and I'm not very happy with it. Previously I owned the "Tooty" and it froze up on me. I went to their shop in Florida. Oldsmar to rectify the issue, but the compressor broke, I paid the difference and was provided with Master Blaster. I have had this compressor for about two years, however, I used it a handful of times. Recently, I've started to airbrush again, and issues started. After I run the compressor for about 45min straight, it gets really hot and the motor starts to sputter, at which point it quits filling up the tank. I have to wait about 20-30 minutes before I can airbrush again. Not to say that Spraygunner has bad products they are a great and friendly group of guys, but their compressors are subpar.

I completely understand where you’re coming from. Though there are a ton of factors that we need to look at, like what’s the ambient temp where you are spraying humidity etc. I just sprayed with mine for over an hour with 70° temps in my garage. But the humidity is around 40% in there so I don’t have much water build up in my tank, so I didn’t have much in my line that the in-line trap caught. The motor beginning to sputter after use could be an excess amount of humidity in the air which is then being amplified by the heat coming from the compressor. I’m not saying you didn’t get a potentially dud compressor but I have seen $300 compressors fail because they can’t handle the humidity around them especially when they get hot from use

Can you just get the compressor and hook it up to a tank? I see they have a compressor in stock. It doesn't look like the same one but maybe it's a newer version
@NotSoAverageBuilder
@NotSoAverageBuilder 2 жыл бұрын
You can essentially do that but you need something to keep it from just blasting out of the tank so that you can regulate it

Very nice review-- sound is the biggest issue for me if I was going to get a compressor so I can finally get into air brushing. So I appreciate you covering that! I see their site also has a "Master Blaster" compressor at only a $30 increase-- is it the same compressor but just with a metal case shroud?
@NotSoAverageBuilder

Thank you! I wanted to cover all the bases with this review because I know 100% how it is lol airbrushing is wonderful but some of the drawbacks can be discouraging. Especially the noise factor lol I’m sure there are some differences with the master blaster and the “tooty” I personally am not crazy about metal surround compressors. I have always found them to be noisier due to sound being bounced around in the case.

I have a question dose that compressor work with a husky air impact wrench?
@NotSoAverageBuilder
@NotSoAverageBuilder Жыл бұрын
I mean any compressor can work with any air tool HOWEVER there isn’t enough reserve air in the tank to even remotely power it without the compressor running constantly. Which will cause extensive wear on the compressor itself.
