its about working smart not hard. So if its faster and still do a good job ur not only doing it faster but ur able to make a company or urself more money if this is a job then it's just plain smarter. So if you do a $20 project that takes 2hrs. to free hand then your only making $10 per hr and 4 projects in an 8 hr. shift with no breaks which is $80 a day. Where as using stencils to make $20 project that only takes 1 hr. to do then you're making $20 an hr and $160 an an 8 hr shift. do the math.

@d240786 Many people can free hand that. Craig Fraisure would free hand the shit out of that but he still uses a stencil to mist out skull outlines for a backround like that. Grow up.

you guys are insane if you think you shouldn't use stencils at all. If you design the stencils yourself, then it's your work. I draw my own stencils on card stock and use those... I drew it, it's my work regardless of how the paint ends up on the canvas. It is not cheating... sure it's way harder to freehand it completely... but why make it harder for yourself just to prove to people who can't do it anyway? All I'm concerned with is the finish look. Not how it got to that stage.
