@@PatTalisman The a330 neo has a maximum capacity based on a 3-3-3 config (just like the ceo does as well.. check cebu airlines) with a 2-3-2 in the back section. This is just like the a380 can have a 3-5-3 max config but.. does anyone use it? no (or would rarely if low cost). Aircraft these days are so beautiful. Not particularly unique in their designs (like the MD-11 or 747-400), but nonetheless have a certain elegance to them. I’m also a sucker for that black “mask” around the cockpit windows.

Totally agree. It's what I would call the 777 look. However, the 330 NEO has a more sleek tail section. Never liked the Boeing droop tail that much.

@@arielsegal7515 A330 has wider width than Boeing 767, so one seat space is supplemented making the A330 a more comfortable aircraft hands down than the old 767.

Very true. The a330 may not be as efficient and innovative as the Dreamliner, but it definitely wins in the comfort category

@@lzh4950 the name XWB comes because the A350 was originally conceived as an evolution of the A330, using the same frame, Airbus was planning to do the same job they did the time they modernized the A300 into the A330. But most of airlines said that it was a too conservative job and required a more modern aircraft. Thus Airbus came with a second A350 proposal, called XWB to differenciate from the previous one: and this had a wider and bigger frame than the A330. That's why this name.

The A330's 2-4-2 seating in economy is the perfect ratio. Passengers never have to climb over more than 1 person to get to an aisle. The A350 and 787's 3-3-3 seating is uncomfortable. I really hope they can keep the A330 Neo models flying for much longer.

Only flip side I can think of is that if a trio of travellers wanted to sit together (like my family), then no 1 gets to have a window seat

Damn, I hate 3-3-3 seating. Even worse is 2-5-2. Every damn plane I've been on with that layout, I had the misfortune of getting stuck in the very middle. That is ONLY for those with massive bladders. The first time I was stuck on that was on Singapore Airlines. And the plane hit a massive wake of turbulence causing my lunch to spill all over my lap. And I had to sit and wait in my soaked pants until the captain turned off the seatbelt sign AND for the damn trays on one side to be removed so I could go to the lavatory and at least try to wipe off whatever spilled on me. I wish a lifetime of hell for the shitheads who want this layout on their planes.

Love the A330. The narrowest you can build a 'true' widebody- with 2 LD3s side by side. . A330NEO is also a genuine long range performer, especially the 800. They look great with the NEO look

The A330-neo has a really graceful look, Airbus are hitting the nail on the head with their new aircraft and their improvements to previous models at the moment. It seems they can do NO WRONG whilst Boeing are floundering about in absolute chaos with the major issues with the Max and quality issues with the 787. Great work Airbus!!

Payload-range graphs show that you can fly more cargo the shorter missions you fly. So the Dreamliner should carry more payload for any mission. Probably. The narrator puts together a great production with these videos. Well done!

Beautiful plane. I haven't flown in the NEO yet, but will be soon. Airbus has done a fantastic job with this aircraft. And the fact that it doesn't have MCAS makes this plane very ideal choice for many of us consumers. Now I understand why Boeing was pressured to launching the 737 max in order to compete with this aircraft without giving much regard to ethical decisions and safety of passengers.

I think that the A330 is the plane that makes smoother landing! Look at the videos of other aircrafts and then at the A330 landing.. it is soo smooth, I think beacause of his landing gear

Strange fact according to A330 and 787. Airbus sold more A330 than Boeing 787 since the A330neo was offered in 2014. Boeing sold between 2014 and 2018 about 370 aircraft while Airbus sold 240 A330neo but also 180 A330ceo - in total 420 aircraft.

Like this channel. No frustration elements to complain about. I just wonder why airliner companies dont put external fuel tanks under the airliner wings such as with military a/c ? Doing this they will extend the range of the aircraft according the route they choose. And it will illuminate the need of lots of different models with different ranges.

The fuel capacity added by external fuel tanks wouldn’t have the same amount of added range like it would have with military aircraft. Also the range of the aircraft is already long enough for let’s say 95% (probably even more) of all airlines operating it!

At last new airliners are beginning to look good again. For a while they were characterless buses, but now i see things I like looking at. The Dream liner is nice too and the A380 isn't exactly pretty but definitely has character and presence. I now find myself looking upwards again.

Beautiful bird, the big brother to the A350, redefined more beautiful than before and cleaner. It's very interesting to note that I have never heard any complaints about the Airbus airliners altogether, unlike the Boeing airliners always showed problems one way or another, has anybody noticed this trends?? I have flown in the 787 Dreamliner and in the 777, A330 and I think they're excellent birds to fly on altogether, however Boeing has some catching up to do with Airbus specially with the problems it's facing with the 787 and the new 737 Max. At this time I'd prefer to fly on an Airbus airliner above anything else.

Ionut-George Constantin I know a fair bit; that is meant solely as a meme to the reference he made. I knew the plan for a 787-3 which failed; I also know that early batches of the 787 is not good for long haul due to structural issues. The original comment was never serious.

They decided to upgrade A330 because it was selling very well in 2000s and early 2010s. A320neo became bestseller despite it was just A320 with new engine. But now market love 787 with it's range and fuel efficience that Airbus can't beat even with A330neo. The next big thing is already here and it's Boeing.

It definitely did when A350-800 was about to be done before getting cancelled in 2014. It might be with A350-100 too as it is proving tough to sell in a segment where airlines have mainly trusted Boeing. Although Lufthansa never bought 777-300ER for them selves to use (they went with gas guzzler A340) they bought a handful for Swiss for their longhaul flights. They've replaced all but 5 A340-300's but more could be on the cards as earlier this year 2 more were bought for an early 2020 delivery. But A350-900 could be taking away sales from A350-1000 as a lot of customers switched to, due to 777-200ER replacement market (which Boeing also wants with slow selling shorter range 787-10) that has been busy for a yew years and is expected to continue for a while as none have built since 2014 while production started in 1997, it which is not a good sign.

Good point. I hope the wings remain to be built at Broughton. This also goes for the C series (A220) wings which are built at Belfast.

Dai Kil Do we know whether or not those wings will be shipped to Alabama for final assembly in the US market (to get around the tariffs) or if the US version will have mostly US-sourced parts? Silly that they have to create two assembly lines, but to be honest, it will really help Mobile, AL out as it is pretty barren. Hopefully the NI plant doesn’t get fucked over because of Brexit.

I think the A330neo will be a great, comfortable plane. I feel that Airbus places a bit more focus on passenger comfort than Boeing, particularly in economy. I respect that they believe in 18 inch wide economy seats.

Yup, just re-engines/wings design of A330 that rejected by most airlines decades ago, before Airbus came out with new, clean sheet design of A350XWB.

It's a great aircraft similar to 767 ,reliable, soft landing ,lower in price comparison buying Boeing. Orders won't come so quickly, but as 767 ,and older A330s retire airliners will look into options.

The A330 is nothing more than a Airbus A340 except that it has two engines instead of 4. The wing and fuselage have the same dimensions.

Airline fleet managers should think long and hard before gambling on this jet. With the seemingly never-ending problems with the RR Trent 1000 engines, the likelihood of problems arising in the Trent 7000 are at the very least, higher than they should be. I would only order these jets at least a year into their service life, after the Trent 7000 has proved that it is trouble free and the A330NEO is actually dispatch reliable. You must remember, this is the sole power plant available on this aircraft. If it suffers a major failure in the IPC, then it has the potential to ground the entire fleet of A330NEOs, or even just remove most of the ETOPS. IMO, don't gamble on this aircraft. Take your money to Boeing and scoop up Dreamliners with GEnx Engines instead.
