AIRBUS A380 near vertical TAKEOFF and AIRSHOW + Orange and BLUE ANA A380

This Airbus A380 near - vertical takeoff at the Farnborough Air Show 2014 was among the most amazing planespotting moments I ever witnessed. While lots of Airlines are currently phasing out their A380` s I decided to show you my TOP 3 A380 moments. Number one was definitly the airshow and on spots 2 and 3 I included the A380` s of All Nippon Airways. The special liveries are still a stunning sight and I am quite happy about driving 800km each time for these too.
Recently Emirates announced they might remove about 50% of their A380 fleet and they decided not to take over the last remaining 5 A380` s which were currently produced at Hamburg Finkenwerder. Sad development.

A n a he's got some nice paint schemes! Give us a plane's some personality. I didn't really like the 380 's when they first came out. I think I was being protective of the Queen the 747. I live in work near SFO. Used to love watching the 747 and especially Air Force Ones. So beautiful! Watched Bush's 707 takeoff going west. They put power to it and all you saw was smoke and the Secret Service Suburban trying to keep up with it on the Runway. I'm glad they've cleaned up the engines but it was cool to see them smoke a little. I think at the time 707 were banned from SFO except of course for Air Force One.

Just doesn’t seem to have much speed built up when she jumps. Amazes me every.single.time. That something that heavy can lift. The 747 may be the king but she is absolutely the queen.dont you know those pilots had fun flying her free. And so did she. Watch her grin. 5:09. I’d never seen the orange one...;those eyelashes!!

Said companies who will decommission their A-380s will be losing more money ( each of these babies is nearly half a billion dollars ) by doing so rather than storing these carefully under the right conditions... for someday they will need them again. Sad. The most fabulous bird in the sky and the most sophisticated ( except for Northrop - Grumman's B-2 Spirit )

The A380 is definitely a technical marvel but it is a commercial misfit, it only sold well to Arab airlines (Emirates CEO today said they were about to retire the complete A380 stock, while they have still have some on order ) Ofcourse this is quite substantially due to Corona but they already were struggling to fill them up, average was about 70% pre-corona. Also they could back-up their hub n spoke model (for which the A380 was designed) to some extend by 'not paying' for fuel at their hub. When Airbus was designing the A380, the demand for more fuel efficient 2 engined long range aircraft with a capacity that ultimately could match the 747 at its max, but not neccesarily, was already there...Hence the triple 7 versions and A330,, with the 787 and A350 being the next generation. Even 'classic' airlines with big home bases like BA and Lufthansa were relucted to buy the A380, the latter one even preferred to stick (at that time) with the 748 for many other reasons. Airbus expected to sell 1200 A380's.. how many they finally sold..and who were the big buyers and to what extend do they represent the aviation industry?
