I flew Royal Brunei’s MEL-LHR route back in the late 90s - and the crew were happy for guests (Aussies & others) to sit up the back to sit up the back and tuck into their duty free grog!!

Dear Avuncular Av Geeks, Alex and Dan, my Polaris flight BNE-LAX (I think they’ve cancelled that route now) was surprisingly good. Good food, good service, great bedding, free pajamas. I could almost be proud of a US airline! I did have to take 3 alcohol wipes from the basket when boarding and helped the cleaning crew scrub the stains from my seat area. I was in bulkhead, so there was a lot of surfaces. But after that, it was a glorious ride. Btw, I think VS 787 premium economy seats are much better than their A350 ones. Can’t wait to SEE you both again in vision sometime!

I flew Royal Brunei in Business Class a few years ago and at that time their official policy was that they would not provide alcoholic drinks but if you bought your own there was no issue. They would provide glasses, ice, mixers etc. No idea if this is still the case but not a bad idea as long as drinking was done discreetly and in moderation.

First, I would like to say that this is a wonderful episode of your podcast. Keep up the great work! 😊 I've a few questions though. Is Mr Faury really like he is during press conferences? And do you mean with the question of the NYT reporter a question that was asked during the press conference? I watched the press conference on KZbin, so I think I can remember the question and Guillaume's answer. Last but not least, I think you know Guillaume pretty well and I'm impressed by how you describe his behaviour and what he actually is meaning.

On my first A380 flight dubai to Auckland their was cleaners on the plane with Emirates for the flight.

A friend of mine was a heavy smoker and she had a 2nd home in Thailand. She would always fly from the UK to Dubai and onwards to Bangkok. What she would do was have a cigarette and board last, then when she got to Dubai her husband took the hand luggage and she would sprint to the smoking zone! Then she would repeat it on the next sector. Thinking about it now she was such an Emirates fan and I told her once about a deal I found for her on KLM but she refused to entertain the notion of flying direct from Amsterdam to Bangkok because the flight was too long!
