Thanks, I was just about to fly my airbus. I wasn’t sure how to fly it, but this video helped explain me the protections it has. I’m pretty experienced, learned everything from KZbin, but yeah, thanks.

Smart Lynx Estonia Flight 9001 ended up being in mechanical backup for pitch only after the THS override mechanism stopped detecting pilot input to he trim thinking it was computer failure and kept shutting off the ELAC’s. Pilots kept resetting preventing failure until they didn’t and due to a design limitation with the SEC’s the aircraft just went to mechanical backup

How do you change an A330 to direct law in mid flight? I’m trying to get it to work in Xplane12 but lowering the landing gear doesn’t do the trick.

I have a question, why would Airbus change it's Flt Ctrl Law if the plane is in the situation *Airbus Industrie 129 *XL Airways Germany 888T *Air France 447 *Air Asia 8501

Because the aircraft doesn’t have the data required to support normal law.

Hi Dean, we will be flying with Normal Law with all the available protections. Only when there are certain failures, it gets downgraded to Alternate Law then to Direct Law. It is also highly unlikely for the aircraft to only have Mechanical Backup controls unless it is a severe failure.

Hello capt, is mechanical back up a law or a mode? The A320 has only 3 laws right? Also do we have mechanical linkages in their aircraft? Thank you

Mechanical backup is a mode where you only control the rudders and pitch trim mechanically.

You can roll using rudders

Yes that is right. Secondary movement, or using differential thrust, if available.

Change into flare mode is not fron 500ft. but 50RA down to 5 seconds after land wuen again chainge into ground mode.

Nothing could save AF447. Airbus's design philosophy or implementation of systems is very wrong.

You’re wrong. Following the Airbus stall recovery still would have saved it.
