I think carriers do take some level of skill. I understand there's little risk in playing one but in order to be affective you have to be able to manage multiple things at the same time. I'm able to play destroyers, battleships, and cruisers with ease but the second I played a carrier for a month I just couldn't get the concept down all the way, managing fighters, where my ship was, and also controlling the aircraft while maintaining a proper presence over the enemy to spot and cause damage while knowing which type of aircraft to use at certain times proved too tough for me at first.
