This video really helped me out. Even answered my question about why the heading indicator and compass move in opposite directions. Thanks!

Wow, I'm a complete pilot in training newbie with only about 10 hours of ground school under my belt and these videos are amazingly awesome. I'm also an Instructional Designer for a big corporation.....I'm wanting to learn some skills in making animations like what you've provided in these videos. May I ask what software you guys use for your animations? I'm currently learning Blender but also am somewhat skilled with most of the Adobe CC Suite programs such as After Effects and Illustrator as well. Would love to know what programs you use to create such high class animation content! Fabulous job!!

Thanks so much! We're glad to hear that the videos are helpful! Our 3D animation process starts with building our models in Maya. From there, we can begin the animation process. Our landscapes are built in Vue (the software they used for Avatar). All of that data gets combined in After Effects where it is rendered and sent to Premiere for the final edit. The bulk of our 2D animation is done inside of After Effects. We also use a number of plugins for Maya and After Effects to get our final look. It's definitely a process!

I completed my Pvt in 1989. It just occurred to me to adjust my DG and compensate for Deviation. Also, if you forget the two terms associate the compass with VD. If my compass has VD, whom can forget this now?

I came to this video with the hope of learning how turns and acceleration affect compass errors, a question I expect to have to answer on my PP exam. I will look elsewhere. :-/
