In the UK your best option to become an AME is to study the Aircraft maintenance engineering degree at the university of South Wales. It offers a degree and all 13 EASA/GCAA modules for a part 66 Cat B1.1 license. The accelerated route means that after three years of degree and 2 years in industry, minimum, you can apply or have your company apply for you to gain your license. The course has a range of industry partners and contacts. As a second year student myself I can vouch for the course and the information stated.

EASA/GCAA accelerated route course is 3 years of study with a minimum of 2 years experience upon completion with all modules passed and 90% attendance or higher achieved.

I got my certifications, A&P, through aviation high school in NYC. It was free. Then I got the FCC certification. Worked in the airline industry for 15 years as a flight line technician. Physically demanding, dirty and dangerous work. Midnight shifts are the norm. Pays well if you work for the majors. I switched to being a technician in the medical device industry. A good fit for me. Much better than working on aircraft.

Informative Wanna know more about KLM UK Engineering? And also the difference in working in line and base?
@basvandekreeke26055 жыл бұрын
If i am right KLM E&M UK performs base maintenance for the narrow body fleet of KLM (b737 and emb 175/190.) Don't know wich check But the difference between line and base maintenance is that line maintenance is maintenance performed inbetween 2 flights. This usually happens on the platform before a flight leaves Base maintenance is when an aircraft is temporary removed from the production this is due to either a problem wich has been found during a inspection on the line or a scheduled check (A,B, C or D check) each letter stands for a level of maintenance performed on an aircraft. To give a good level of those different "levels" i will explain what an A check is and a D check: When an A check is performed attention will be focussed on the smaller things like filters, ovens, crew oxygen masks etc etc. This check will be scheduled for 12 hours on the boeing 737 type and 18 hours on the b787 type while when a D check is performed the whole plane will be dismanteled, each component will be inspected and after thar it will be re assembled. When performing a D check an aircraft can be out of the production for months

I can't say for certain but my guess is probably not. You need to gain some form of qualification to have any chance of competing against those already qualified. Your experience with vehicles will help and you could study part time or in the evenings.

Please discuss or create a detailed video on AME as per DGCA. Because as your recommendation tehy dont know anything about AME. They just misguide students. Here the school and website create huge rumor about course duration. According to DGCA this is 2400 hr Training . this should be completed in 2 years. But some school says it is 4 years / 3 years. There is only one institute name Star aviation Academy has given complete information about it. staraviationindia.org/what-is-an-ame/

@@tostibrand1273 I am studyng aircraft maintaince, and after I get bachelor as a aeruonautical engineer I need 3 years of experience to obtain my EASA C licence. How much is such a license generally required from the aircraft industry?
@tostibrand12736 жыл бұрын
@@MajorTom97 well only a C Licence holder can release an aircraft to service from base maintenance, if that is what you want to do you need it. However if you want to work for a Design organisation or Production Organisation you don't need it at all, but it will help you in design & maintenance insights because you have hands on experience. Including in your 3 years of experience you will need at least 6 months observing base maintenance tasks.
@MajorTom976 жыл бұрын
@@tostibrand1273 Who is responsible for releasing an aircraft in the line maintenance? And would it be good for my career to also obtain B licence, as I am planning to do beacuse as I understood with C licence I will not work directly on airplane, it is more like paperwork?
@tostibrand12736 жыл бұрын
@@MajorTom97 Since line maintenance is very minor things even an A licence holder can do it as long as the certification privileges are restricted to maintenance which the authorization/licence holder has personally performed in a Part-145 organization. The principal function of the category C certifying staff(licence holder) is to ensure that all required maintenance has been called up and signed off by the category B1, B2 and B3 support staff, as appropriate, before issue of the certificate of release to service. Only category C personnel who also hold category B1, B2 or B3 qualifications may perform both roles in base maintenance. so in short, as C licence holder you will be doing more paperwork, however if you also have a B licence you can do the maintenance and sign off on the task as B licence holder and when all maintenance is done you can also release the aircraft to service as a C licence holder. This largely depends on the organization you will work for though and what they require of you.
