That series was great, now one on the Airbus equivalent

Awesome 777 series of videos. One thing I'd like to mention. Concerning the stall protection, the fly by wire system will eventually prohibit manual nose up trimming of the horizontal stabilizer as the aircraft gets closer to the stall and as airspeeds gets too low. The system will fight to avoid a stall but the pilot has the ultimate authority, since it's a soft protection. The pilot will be able to stall it if he applies enough back pressure to force the 777 to stall after the trim is inhibited.

As it should be. Other than the Max' MCAS ... :p

@@hutmitfrosch3030 Yes, as it should. The pilot having the ultimate authority of control , excluding how MCAS was previously on the 737 Max.

Neat finale in the 777 Flight Control series. Was interested in what the Boeing FBW equivalent for the Airbus FBW Alpha Floor is, this seems to have answered it extensively. Also, was great that you went into some detail on the -300ER's tail strike protection software.

Great video! A small correction… @0:29 "when the two moments are equal there is no rotation around the CG and when the rotation is zero the aircraft is in trimmed flight" is not exactly correct. Trimming has to do with the airplane maintaining its attitude . So using the elevator control to maintain the equal moments is not a trimmed condition. When the stabilizer is adjusted to offload the elevator so that the stabilizer is maintaining the aerodynamic loads to keep the airplane in the desired attitude while the elevator is (usually) streamlined with the stabilizer, i.e. not deflected, then that "hands-off" steady state is called trimmed. You describe trimmed state correctly starting @7:56 when you explain "pitch trim in flight."

How do you attain CG%?
@AircraftScience Жыл бұрын
The pilot will enter the CG value into the aircraft computer before departure.
@demal1010 Жыл бұрын
@@AircraftScience I mean where do you get the value? Is given by a computer or something you have to figure out yourself?
@AircraftScience Жыл бұрын
It's part of the weight and balance procedure, calculated by the pilot or the cargo department personnel.
