I've been wearing Hisea boots for some time now but would never wear them when pouring concrete. I've been pouring concrete for 25 years+. Leveling a slab is usually done with a screed and guide/depth pins and floated after. Your float looks more like a fresno than a bull float which is used after a bull float. Using the correct method and tools saves time and produces a higher quality surface.

I'm the kind of guy who would shotcrete a Dome in a tuxedo 😁 My Neoprene Boots work Great for me. Comfort is Key. It's a bull float, brother. I am aware of the difference 😆 Any projects lined up for you?

Do you think a cement vibrator would help fill tires with soil and sand without having to pound them with a sledge?

yes adding sand increases the strength and durability of aircrete but will decrease is R value the more you add in my experience.

Spoiler- it would involve making your own cement, and I'm not sure that you'd want to do that, but as you're involved in the subject I thought you might like to check it out. It's a short video.
