Another great slide show Martin. Hard to believe there are so many parts to this kit. The details are outstanding!

Thanks Michael, much appreciated mate...yes, a ton of parts that are taking a long time to clean up, prime, paint and assemble. With 509 parts it;s like building 5 or 6 individual 1/48 scale kits! Cheers : )

Hi Martin, looking fabulous darling! This kit is just nuts for parts and detail 😳 The cockpit tub is looking 1st class.Look forward to the next update.Yeah baby yeah! 😊🍺

Thanks mate, much appreciated! Yes, this kit will overwhelm you into losing your mojo if you sit and look at all the parts long enough! It’s one of those kits where you just have to make sure you do something with it each day, even if iit’s only an hour of work, and eventually you work a few sprues down

International British Modeler Yeah its a mountain of plastic mate.Think I will do a few small kits before I tackle this monster 😀
@InternationalBritishModeler7 жыл бұрын
Each sub-assembly of this kit is like a small kit....build the cockpit kit first, followed by the engine kit, then the 2 internal wing kits, then the body kit, then the wheel well and undercarriage kit, then the control surfaces kit...there's 7 small kits for you to make a start on! :P

Utterly mind boggling kit. Beautiful detail. Top job Martin
@InternationalBritishModeler7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark, much appreciated mate, and yes...it's an overwhelming kit when you open the box and see all of those 509 parts. It's taking forever to clean seam-lines, wash parts, prime, paint, finish and assemble these sub assemblies. It's just taken me 3 days to clean up 69 parts that fit around the engine block and prime them ready for painting tomorrow. It's going to be a very long build! Cheers : )

This is such a beautiful kit!!! It's really like building an actual aircraft. All parts seem to be there. Glorious days for modelers! The cockpit looks fantastic. The engine... I'm lost for words! If I ever get rich and have a sizable hobby room I'll do some aircraft builds in 1/24!!! At least 1/32! Even 1/48 appears to be too small for my eyesight as it's getting worse. Can't wait to see more of this build Martin! Take care. Cheers :)
@InternationalBritishModeler7 жыл бұрын
Hey Jens, yes, it is a beautiful kit, apart from the massive amounts of seam lines, which at this scale all have to be removed so they are not visible. It's taken a lot of time so far just cleaning and preparing parts before I can prime, paint and assemble them. But, I shall not let that overwhelm me and I will persevere until the end. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated! Cheers : )

I have all my best builds (35 in total) displayed on the display cabinets in the lounge and family room....this one is about the same size as my 1/32 Junkers Ju88A-1 Bomber, so, I'll probably replace the bomber with this and demote the bomber to one of the display shelves in my basement office. My missus doesn't complain about my hobby and all the finished models on the display cabinets...they become conversation pieces when people come over for dinner and cocktails, or just cocktails for their first time. Cheers : )

Thanks Kenny, much appreciated mate. It's packed with details mate and is taking forever to clean, prime, paint and assemble the separate sub-assemblies.I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to get it completed by the December 31st deadline?! Yes, the first time I've used the Vallejo Acrylic Metal colors, they really are great, flow beautifully, go down well, look like metal and they clean up much easier than the colored acrylic model master and Tamiya paints. Cheers : )

You;re welcome! I just finished cleaning and priming the pilot on Friday...he will be used, but not in the cockpit, because he would hide the fabric seatbelts that I have used. So, he'll more than likely take a seat on the wing leading edge somewhere! Cheers : )

I love Vallejo paints and as you found, the metal colors are amazing. But, I think the primers are trash. I've been, from day one, experiencing adhesion issues. I also just recently worked with p.e. for the first time and I must say I was a bit intimidated, but as I started to work with it I quickly realized that it's really not hard to deal with. I will definitely look for as much p.e. I can find for every kit I will build in the future. In fact I'm about to start work on a 1/72 Bf-109E-3 for a forced perspective diorama I'm building to sell and I even got p.e. for that. I think it will be a fun build and have decided to video it and post it on my channel as my first bit of content. Looking good already and looking forward to seeing your build progress. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing it.
@InternationalBritishModeler5 жыл бұрын
I only use the Vallejo Metal colors, because they're such great Metallic paints for acrylics. My preferred go to paints are Model Masters, then Tamiya for secondary back up. PE does help bring the detail level of a kit to another level, but, it's expensive...I prefer to scratch-build the extra details I want to see on my builds...it's a lot cheaper and gives one a sense of reward if it is done well. Happy you like the look of this build so far, but it was completed over a year ago, so if you'd like to see the end result, here is the link to the "Final Reveal" video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqDPhaawhd50bZo Cheers

www.hawkertyphoon.com is a group, rapidly growing as of last year who are restoring to flight a Typhoon 1B. They expect to have it flying by 2024. They have a complete, never run Napier Saber engine. At the moment it is painted grey, which is incorrect, what is correct however are all the parts for proper detailng of the 1/24th scale engine. Look on their website for information when the motor will be on display.
@InternationalBritishModeler7 жыл бұрын
Hey Johnny, thanks for the link to the Tiffy restoration website, much appreciated. I'm already linked to it...the link has been shared around the modeling forums since it was announced and made public. We're all excited about it and anxious to see her fly when she's completed....lets hope her tail doesn't fall off or the cockpit catches fire when taking off, as some of the originals did until they made efforts to "fix" those issues! Cheers : )

Definitely it must your best work so far, how many hours did you spend doing it? It's a lot of work there
@InternationalBritishModeler7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jaime, much appreciated! Regarding hours, I haven't a clue how many, I've lost track with this model, but I will say a lot! I;ve been working on the engine assembly this last week, and it took 3 days just to clean up all the seam lines on 69 parts, wash them with IPA and prime them ready for painting next week! I thought that I would have had the engine assembly painted and fitted by the end of this week, but it wasn't to be. Hopefully, then engine will be completed by the end of this coming week and I'll release "Build Update #2"- the Engine Assembly next weekend?! We'll see. Cheers : )
