Thank you, sir, for your outstanding video productions. Not only are you highly skilled and vastly experienced, but your commentary is so wisely measured that it is a true pleasure to watch AND listen. Thank you for not feeling like you have to play music. I prefer the sounds of the building, the birds coming in through your window, and the occasional rain shower. I look forward to the videos more than any of the other builders.

Thank you for the feedback I’m happy you like the production. I try to keep things simple and calm I think that’s the way to build models.

I do wish Airfix would build this in a larger scale
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
1/32 would be good but I don’t think there’s much chance of that 🙁

I know it took a lot longer than it appears in the video, but wow, it really seemed like the build progressed extremely quickly!! Airfix is REALLY progressing beautifully! I am really loving these new issues. It does appear they got the cockpit dimensions off a bit though, I think the pilot would have to be 8 foot tall to reach the rudder pedals! Beautiful work as usual though, really looking forward to the next update!!

Thank you it really did go together pretty quickly and you're absolutely right that Airfix are progressing well with their new releases.

I received mine last week so I look forward to watching this build eagerly. It also makes me want to dig out my Airfix /48 Fury to park alongside it.
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
It would be nice if they updated the fury and did a few more inter war RAF types

Very nice, thank you for sharing. The rigging scares the living daylights out of me.

I’ll let you in on a secret: it scares me as well 😬😂

Hi Steve, I have never built a traditional biplane, so will be watching with interest how you tackle it ,l do like your methods, and have learnt a lot from your videos ,will be getting one for the stash if i see it in my local model shop, Thanks for the great videos .

I still have the 1//72 version of this model and by all accounts that is a beautiful kit. when this was announced I was very tempted to break away from my rule of 1/72nd scale only. Now seeing it being made I'm even more tempted, let's just say I have a thing for bi-planes, the very first kit I made was the old Airfix Albatros D.V, and when I returned to modeling I had the same lit in my stash so that's where i started again, I still have a red boxed one still in the stash. I must say this Bull-Fog does look very very tempting, I just wonder how long it will take to reach Cape Town. Thanks for the video and I'll keep an eye out for part 2.

A nice start to this kit. The Bulldog was a nice airplane in it's day. I was curious, are you going to tackle the ICM 1/32 Gloster Gladiator some day? Would love to see you build that awesome kit.
@TheModelShed5 ай бұрын
I have the gladiator I’ll get to it before too long.

It’s going together well so far Chris and I test fitted the struts today and they’re a nice positive fit. hopefully they’ll not give any problems 🤞

Lovely fit and details, wish it was 1/32 scale, to better enjoy those features but I’m certainly tempted to get one. 😊

A few have said that though I’m happy enough with it in 1/48. Thise 1/32 models eat up the display space.

Great start on the Bulldog Steve! Looking good. Do you happen to know what make and grade of the resin that was used? It looks like ABS to me, but not the nice ductile ABS that Tamiya use. Hmm... Cheers!
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
It is a bit reminiscent of abs David. I spoke to the guys from Airfix at Telford last year about the gannet and they said the new harder plastic had helped with the crisp surface detail on the new productions

Hi Steve, Mate what's the dry brush you use, it looks great?
@TheModelShed5 ай бұрын
nothing special just an old flat brush cut back a bit
@dlthomson52876 ай бұрын
I find the Bristol Bulldog a n interesting aircraft and from the looks of it Airfix has captured that look very well indeed. I am also glad to see the plastic they use for their kits is a bit more 'robust' than earlier kits. One further question, will you be continuing on with your aircraft of the Aces series at some point? Keep up the excellent work.
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Hi yes I’ve got a Yak 1 and a spitfire underway for the aces series in the next couple of months
@joepucillo13386 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, Always enjoy your videos. Looks like a fun kit. How do you keep the nozzle on the testers professional glue from getting bound up? I like the glue but have a problem when I go to use it. Thanks
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Hi Joseph It is a problem with Contacta pro - I keep a piece of 0.3 copper wire in the applicator tube when not in use. put a loop in at the end so you can pull it out easy.
@joepucillo13386 ай бұрын
Thank you!I will try that.

Hello Steve, I see that you are using wire to rig this plane, when other online builders use, or used EZ Line. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think I remember you using EZ Line to rig your Hood and Bismarck. Reports are that EZ Line deteriorates quite quickly and crumbles. Do you have an opinion?
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
I’ve had no problems with the elastic line Finlay but it was van der rosten thread not EZ. not sure if there’s much difference except the VDR is better quality being smoother. I’m using wire because it’s easier to use in this scale
