Don't understand that you only have 11k followers.. your builds are brilliant. Much better as others with 100+k followers. Just don't understand but please keep going. Loving it!

I only came across Steve last last year on the Bismarck build, the guy blew me away, so talented and such great commentary and quality editing, and a very calming voice. This stuff should be on mainstream TV, I now watch episodes of this guy each evening so much better than what's TV, I feel lucky to have found his channel.

Beautiful work as usual! I know the Lancaster is a large aircraft, but seeing just this much of it in 1/32nd scale is eye opening! Again, beautiful work, and eagerly awaiting the next update!

You should be working for a MUSEUM. The quality of your builds is beyond most adjectives and I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had to scrape carpet lint off my tongue because it was dragging on the floor! Watching you is pure pleasure! I always look forward to new videos from you.

The radio gear in particular looks great Steve, but the whole nav / radio op station is a terrific build. A good day for model work judging by the sound of the liquid sunshine on the shed roof! 8^) Thanks for sharing the video. Cheers from Canada.

Hi Steve, the Lancaster is looking absolutely fantastic, it appears to be a kit within a kit, your detail painting is absolutely spot on and flawless, those instrument boxes etc that you were installing looked perfect, congratulations on a great effort so far, happy modelling, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les

A timely video! I'm just painting the cockpit of my Tamiya 1:48 Spitfire Mk.I fitted with some aftermarket - so this is good inspiration and an exemplar of what can be achieved. This will be my first really detailed piece of work. Thanks Steve.

Ahh, you may come to regret fitting the lower bulkhead! the bomb bay roof is going to be a bear to install with that bulkhead in! I'd try to dryfit it now just to see. I ended up with a 32nd inch gap between the front and rear fuselage which I think that little bulkhead caused. As for the navigator, he'd have a master compass for heading, as well as an airspeed indicator. Also likely a temperature gauge.
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Done that Harald thanks for the heads up. Got it in without too much bother. It wouldn’t have gone in following the Border instruction sequence though.

Nice work, Steve. Do the seatbelts for the nav and wireless look completely out of scale, especially when compared to the pilots belts?
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
I don’t think so Ian. Because they were only lap belts I think they had to be broader to provide the restraint.
@StarGazer5196 ай бұрын
You did it again. Absolutely amazing, as usual 👍 do you prefer citadel for brush painting or tamiya ? Obviously citadel provides a wide range of colours and shades etc. And covers very good as wel. Great job !
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Definitely prefer Citadel. You don’t have the “authentic” BS/FS shades but I don’t get too hung up on those: there is a wide enough range as you say to get any shade you need with careful mixing.

Great to follow along and see actual progress rather than watch elswhere for 50 episodes with little to show for the time spent 😃

Slow but steady with this one but it will get built 👍
@johnhughes26536 ай бұрын
Looking good so far, but just be aware that the assembly order in the instructions is incorrect. You cannot build up the nose section and fit it to the bomb bay as they would have you do. Fit the cockpit interior to the bomb bay first, then assemble the outer parts around it. See the build on Nigel's Modelling Bench for details.

Brilliant as always I think my border Lancaster will stay in the loft for a while yet need to see yours completed then I can think about it. But very excited when I see the detail. Did you buy a full set of citadel paints? Are they base colours? Keep up the good work
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Thanks Chris hope you enjoy it when you do start. I don’t have a full set of citadel- just the ones I need and I use most of the ranges: base/layers and washes. I don’t bother so much with the dry though.

Used to think this kit was wildly expensive until I saw the Hachette build by Nigel and others. That 'Kit' is 2 1/2 times the price and is awful in comparison.
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
I haven’t seen that but 1 1/32 Lanc is enough for me 🤔😬
@c123bthunderpig6 ай бұрын
Of course its a great kit, but who the he'll can afford it? Then the crew cost almost as much as the kit.
@TheModelShed6 ай бұрын
Quite a few judging by the number you see at shows. There are an awful lot more stuck in lofts though I would bet.
