Love the build - really nice. I know Old Buckenham too as we are only a few miles away. My late father-in-law grew up at Seething and used to watch the B-24's fly in and out of there during the war. He was lucky enough to be given a baseball bat by one of the airmen stationed there as he had just completed his tour and was going back to the States the next day. He still had it when he passed away - it was one of his most treasured possessions. Lovely work and a fitting place for Corky to be shown.

Great build! PMSL at the commentary such as '.. multitude of sodding turrets..' :) WRT weight, lead shot might be an idea. Takes up more of the available space than lead strips. I've just looked online and you can get a 10Kg bag of 1.8mm shot for £47.40. Sounds expensive but 10Kg would last a very long time. Even if every model took 55gm 10Kg is enough for 181 models with a few gm spare :)

Lovely build of the Libby. It's come out really good. But truly that amount of lead inside the cockpit is just....hazardous and explosive !! Beautiful pictures of the airfield and rhe aeroplanes in the backdrop specially the last one with the flags and the memorial. Keep up the good work

Nice build. Re: Tail-sitters. Aside from using gold instead of lead, you may try a couple of things: __1__ Cutting out the sides of the weight “bin” so you can put more lead in (checking for fit often, of course). __2__ Putting weight in the nacelles (although, that depends on the strength of the undercarriage as there is not nearly the leverage as the front of the fuselage has. __3__ Use a neodymium magnet inside a thinned out front wheel and display on a suitable magnetic surface. The first option should be enough, but there is just so much styrene on the tail of this kit, perhaps the neutron star material *is* the only option. = = = = = 😁

I contemplated filling the rear fuselage with Hydrogen, but I had this uncomfortable feeling that a large bag of highly flammable gas may cause issues..

To increase the mass of lead in the nose, you might try using powdered lead to reduce the incidence of voids. Apparently golfists use it for something or other (weighting their bats, I assume) but pouring in a quantity and adding PVA to fix it together might do the job.

Great build, love it. On the other hand she doesn't neccesarily have to be a tail sitter but it needs sacrifices. I literally removed everything wich is below upper turret and put there circa 14 lbs of pure lead. Then I cut off most of lower part of turret ( that is hidden in fuselage) to fit it on it's place. What I sacrificed would be invisible anyway and the plane is firmly on all three wheels.

Look up Liquid Gravity. It’s small lead beads that are pourable and can be glued with pva glue. Easy to make a big mess with though!

I use Liquid Gravity, which may be familiar to some modellers. It goes everywhere if you're not careful, but, it fills all those gaps your lead leaves. Think Blue Peter and their glitter: pour it into the spaces over a large sheet of paper with a crease already in it, then any overspill can be poured back into the pot. Pour some diluted PVA onto it which when 'cured', does a great job of holding it all in.
@VFCproductions

Liquid gravity is my go-to for curved spaces. Lead is denser and if the psace is fairly square, will do a better job

In such a case, I think, I would add more weight in the engines. Plus, if you use plasticine to fix the weight, that adds some more.

I tested liquid gravity as an option but it is considerably lighter than the lead sheet. The lead was cut tight enough that it filled most of the available space and was thus the heaviest option available to me

@@VFCproductions Sure, in the recent years, they greatly improved the detail quality and amount, and the engineering of the parts and fit are usually great. You must a bundle of fun at parties with that attitude... 🙄 Just try and accept that looks to be a very well designed and produced model kit, of an important aircraft, and replicates a great and local interest aircraft for anyone especially in the East Anglia region...regardless of how many books and clothes you own.... 🙄 As for the price? With it's detail and complexity, it isn't aimed at "pocket money" prices...we've moved on a bit from early 1970s very basic Airfix models in plastic bags in Woolies for 2'/6....

Well, I guess it's beyond you to acknowledge that a kit of this complexity, in this day and age, is a stunning example, and not aimed at kids with their pocket money prices.... Not every model has to be for the beginner; more mature enthusiasts have to catered to as well, and this kit is certainly for that crowd. Quite why you chose this rather nice video to pick-on for your unpleasantness, I don't know. It certainly doesn't deserve your nasty pedantry....
