There is one very important step, forgotten (or just never shown or talked about in a video) by most if not all modellers: cleaning the model ! I always put my kit in a bath of warm water and washing up liquid. Then rinse well. Removing the release agent really makes the paint adhere a lot better. Just before painting the model, after assembly, clean with alcohol, using a lint free cloth. Thouroughly cleaning a model should be compulsory in every tutorial. I did show it in mine (Spitfire).

Good clean tips there, its one thing I think is a must to keep your model all nice and clean, it just makes all the final results look much nicer. thanks

Thanks for all that, I hope to have part 3 done this monday coming and fingers crossed I will be ready for spraying after that video, as for the canbera I think the customer sent the kit in the post to me so don't know the price he paid. If you look at all the videos I'v done you will find the final reveal video of the canbera which will let you know what I wish I did and what I would do next time. thanks bob

Great vid. with regards to te cost of Airbushes I've managed to get pretty good service out of an Airbrush and compressor from Expo modells for £100, but I do dream of a new Itawa air brush. Excellent video approach and presentation.

Great Vid!!! I've just come back to modeling (the last I did was at school) I'm now 40 but better late than never! I've just started an Airfix 1:72 Lancaster (Dambusters) so trying to get all the tips I can. Mine came with the Humborl Acrylic paints too and yes, they were pants! I have to hand paint the lot (no airbrush) I used the games workshop citadel paints too and they are fantastic! Thanks for the Vid, so far your the best on youtube without a doubt - keep making them! Don't forget masking. Some modellers wonder why the paint comes off with the tape. Even with their low stick tape... I bet they never cleaned the model properly. Soak it in water and washing up liquid (+- 15 min.). That's the most important step. Once the outer layers need to be sprayed, clean the surface well. I assure you the paint will stick much better and will not lift with the tape. If it still does, try a different brand, but I never had to do that. Just keep the model clean.

I enjoy yyour videos alot, im not a begginer at all but i like to watch modelling vids and stuff,and yours are fantastic mate, you earned my sub :) and you deserve a lot more views and subs to, ill spread the workd of your channel, i built the 1:32 hawk my revell with aftermarket decals for an isreali airforce veriant and its a fantasti kit, btw the canbera you paid £32!! ? was that on release? you can get it for £16 on amazon ..any tips on the canberra? im looking foward to building it :)
