Airforce Condor Regulator ( PCP Tunes )

In this review we take a look at the Airforce Condor regulator with dual gauge from PCP tunes. This is a complete assemble from top hat, valve, regulator and 250 bar bottle.

I have the Gunpower Shadow 2 version which is 'supposedly' sub 12ftlb for the UK market. It arrived doing 18ftlb and was sent back being returned doing 16ftlb. It was literally impossible to keep it legal. It wenr back again and this time it was returned with the valve top hat screwed all the way down, do mych so the rear breech O ring could not seal on the top hat. Gunpower refused point blank to rectify the problem and the retail shop had gone bust. It was now just so much scrap. The owner could not get anyone to buy it so gifted it to me to have 'a play' with as I like tuning PCP's. I tried reducing the size of the valve port by threading it and then inserting a drilled brass allen bolt into the port. Yes it became legal but the power curve was very erratic and it had a very small 'sweet spot ' so I decided to fit a regulator. Aliexpress sell the Huben Cricket reg but it made the length of pull so long with the 0.5l oem bottle that I bought a 0.35l shorter bottle. They came pretty quickly and I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality. Fitting was a doddle so after setting the reg to 6.5mpa to start using the test chamber supplied it gave me 11.5ftlb consistently. Fitted it to the new bottle and filled to 200 bar. It gave 11.5ftlb consistently without varying on the occasional shot +/- 0.1ftlb over 100 shots. Well I certainly wasn't going to mess the hammer on reults like that. I get 250 shots before it even shows a slight variation and at 300 shots I called it quits and refilled the bottle. It's a tack driver using RWS Superfield .177 but it hates Air Arms Field. It's like a scatter gun on those. Of course I'm not complaining as they are far cheaper than AA pellets. Now, of course, after so much work and expense getting it up and running my 'friend' who gifted it to me as junk is asking if HIS gun is ready yet. I like the consistency, but too slow for what I'm looking for. Would prefer a 29gr-34gr slug going 950fps-1000fps out of a 24" barrel.

That condor looked like you had pretty good consistency in stock form. 7 shots 1st 927fps -7th 911fps with 33.9gr awesome.

Thanks for the video. Your video definitely played a role in my decision to purchase this regulator. However, after purchasing I felt a bit deceived by PCP tunes regarding the numbers (i.e. FPS and FPE) that they have posted on their website. According to them, they are pushing JSB King 33.94gr pellets in .25 caliber 960 FPS with the regulator set at 150 BAR. This is FALSE! When I got my regulator, I made sure it was set to 150 BAR (2175 PSI), and I was pushing the same pellets 785 FPS. The shot strings were consistent, but I just thought it weird that I was pushing the aforementioned pellets 180 FPS slower than what they advertised the regulator to push them. So then I popped in the JSB Diablo 25.39gr pellets at the same regulator setting. Guess what my FPS was? Yep- 965 FPS on the dot. Even on your video, you posted that you had your regulator set to 2500 PSI (172 BAR), and your FPS averaged 800 FPS. Still a far cry from the 965 average that PCP tunes advertises with the regulator setting higher than what they advertised. But I thought it ironic that when the regulator is set to 150 BAR, the lighter Diablo pellets shoot the listed/advertised trajectories on the dot, but the heavier pellets they say they used are shooting so much slower. The ONLY difference in their test and ours is the barrel length. Both you and I are shooting the Condor SS model with a 18" barrel. Their test utilizes the standard 24" condor barrel. But I find it hard to believe that 6 more inches of barrel can equate to such a drastic difference in the efficiency and power of the rifle. I'm just not buying it. I have a friend who's done a big bore upgrade on the standard condor platform. He told me I could have the 24" barrel. I'm going to put it in my gun and see if it makes up for the loss of velocity, but I doubt it makes that much of a difference. I will keep you updated if you're interested. But my go-to round for the gun is the 25gr pellet from JSB. So pushing those at 960 FPS with a 12 FPS spread over the string is ok with me.

Hello, I have a few questions... #1: why did the fps drop after the regulator install ? #2: can you adjust regulator without taking the regulator off the gun ? #3: do the regulator allow you to charge the bottle up to 3600 psi ? #4: did you do the review with the 95 gm hammer and the shim under the top hat ? lastly #5: how many inches did the regulator increase the length of pull ?

1. Because the plenum size is too small for .25 cal you must run more PSI for same FPS. Look up plenum size vs fps. 2. No 3. No you need a aftermarket bottle designed to run 3600 psi. 4. No I used a 70 gm hammer " And the hammer size only helps with over 3000 psi" PCP Air rifles take a lot of testing, be sure you have plenty of air and pellets before trying anything. I actually went to a local paintball facility that has space to shoot and a HPA air compressor.

Its the plastic screw at the end in the reg side. It has a hole in it. just put an allen key in the hole and turn it to adjust it.

I think he's asking how to adjust the regulator as a whole. Unfortunately the regulator is not externally adjustable. You have to drain the tank EVERY TIME you want to adjust the regulator. You won't find a video from PCP tunes. Just a PDF file. Is it a pain...? YES!!!!! But once you get it dialed in, you shouldn't have to adjust it again. Make sure you use a chronograph after you adjust the regulator to find the sweet spot for your pellet. I try to shoot for 950 FPS. Then LOG THE SETTING! I also created a color code on the adjustable regulator dial that goes inside of the bottle. It takes VERY LITTLE turning to adjust the pressure. 1/4 turn equates to approximately 15 BAR (217 PSI). That being said, you should never have to make a full rotation in either direction to accommodate different weights of pellets. So make a mark anywhere on the adjustable center dial near the edge. This will be your control point. Twist the dial in very small increments until you achieve the proper velocity you're looking for. Don't pay attention to BAR on the dial. Pay attention to FPS out of the gun. When you find the sweet spot, use a colored marker to make a dot on the outer ring of the dial that lines up with the dot you made on the outer edge of the threaded knob. The mark on the center dial is your "control" point. It will always be your reference. The different colored dots on the outer ring can equate to different optimum settings for different pellets. Then log the results and save them. Example- orange = JSB 25.39gr. Red = JSB 33.95gr. So on and so forth.

Been desiring that configuration too. Air Force is not doing it and neither are the after market manufacturers. It should be a natural progression. I understand you can add the two together, but that would make the length of pull too long!
