Completely different to the JSB production facility in the Czech Republic. This one seems to have so much more sophistication & mechanisation. In saying that, I must admit I prefer overall the “feel” of the JSB facility. It seems more family oriented with a just as good or better result, and is after all my favourite pellet 👍 Its funny how Americans think they are the biggest consumer & “favourite “ with sales etc but in fact quite few countries in front... had to laugh 😆

Americans all seem to shoot Crosman pellets which are pretty low quality. Over here in NZ most stores only stock Gamo, but thankfully I can get H&N at larger gun stores and JSB from NZ based online retailers. Those are the only two brands I will use.

Really value this video, thank you and H&N Mr Siemens to take the time to do this. World changing information. H&N definitely German process and quality no doubt. But I still hold JSB and their going to lead ball 1st and then pellet as the better quality product just from an engineering process. H&N and Gamo's pellet making progress is the same from wire to pellet and you can see from Gamo's quality control that things don't always come out good. Most Gamo pellets have the ridge down the side from wire inconsistencies. But that said, great video and great company H&N. (Being automated their pellets should be cheaper than they are - less people employ more profit) If I can't get JSB I buy H&N and it will continue that way purely because I support people more than machines

H&N pellets are harder, some prefer it this way. For example, during the cold weather, JSB is more prone to be damaged when taken by frozen hands from the tins. Also shooting against steel targets makes JSB vanish in the air while with H&N you can still find deformed pellet.
@injairgun5 жыл бұрын
@@HanSolo__ I find H&N hit and miss with certain pellet types. Some fit loosely and don't shoot very well. Others won't even chamber. I have never had that problem with JSB. I like the softer lead of JSB, which makes for expansion a little easier. H&N makes fantastic pellets and I use both brands quite a bit. I love H&N's .177 Wadcutter

It's all gun-dependent. My Hatsan 155 shoots the H&N Hunter Extreme and Cro Magnum shoot great...the JSB Exact 34 grain doesn't shoot for shit. Total garbage *in that gun*. Just sprays them, even at 20 yards you're talking a 6" group. Looking at the pellets, the JSBs are smoother, closer in weight to one another, and more consistent in general; I expected the JSBs to be better but in this gun they just aren't.

Hi Steve! Awesome video 💪 Just to clarify for you: We can use 0.22 caliber airguns and below without a license in South Africa. The law states 0.22 caliber and above requires a license, however 0.22 in a firearm is defined as 5.56mm in metric measurements. As airguns use 0.217/0.218 or 5.52 or so, they don't qualify as true 0.22 in terms of the law and we can use them. Just good luck really 😜 On the bad luck side through a bit of ignorance and incompetence on the part of the authorities, we basically can't license airguns at all. So someone like Matt Dubber getting a license and starting to use 0.25+ just isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future...

That was really interesting and well produced video, Steve. Very well done and super interesting. Thanks Steve for making the trip and H&N for sponsoring and allowing access. One suggestion on your interview style, Steve, consider if restating the information you just received is useful to the viewer. Joerg was very easy to understand, so it did not add any value to me. The risk is going off track if you misunderstand something (50m segment), and you seemed to emphasize Antimony when at least from the content you shared with us it just seemed like a variable. Questions for H&N if I may: 1. How come pellets don't come pre-lubed? Do only some guns benefit from that treatment? I recently learned that one benefit is reduced lead fouling of the barrel. 2. It would be really interesting if you could share what you learn from testing all your pellets with various guns. Which gun/pellet combinations work well? Ideally in the form of quantitative metrics, for example, for a given pellet what is the distribution of ctc (average, std dev, min, max) for each of the guns you test with. I know you sample size of each gun is probably 1, but you samples more pellets than anyone else in the world and that is useful information you could share with your end-users. The retailer straightshooters.com does this type of testing per gun (although mainly energy at various distances), and I always thought it very valuable resource of information. 3. Quality is clearly important for you so why don't you tell us about your quality standards so we can make more information decisions on which product we would like to buy? The only retail information I have about a H&N product is model (i.e. Baracuda Green which also tells me that it is lead-free), caliber (.22), count (200), weight (12.35 gr), and price. Why not tell me what I should expect in terms of distribution of head-size and weight? As I prefer lead-free it easy enough for me, Baracuda Green and the "other" pellet.
@HNSport5 жыл бұрын
1. In 99% of the cases, we did not notice any improvement through lubrication. The slugs have a lubrication. 2. This is a difficult ground as we also have test weapons that are not very precise or simply bad (or at least don't like our pellets). We do not want to offend any weapons manufacturers. 3. If we disclose the distribution of head size and weight then some shooters will try to proof us wrong using inferior test equipment (for example a caliper for the head size). This would lead to (more) endless discussions.
@allanwind2955 жыл бұрын
@@HNSport Thank you for the thoughtful answers. Do you test pellets that have been through the retail chain? I understand if you don't, of course, but fliers are usually blamed on pellets that have been damaged in transit (especially for other brands that I understand are softer). It would give you quality control information that is better aligned with what the end-user sees. Of course, I don't know what you would actually do if you found issues. As a end-user, my only action is to select retailers that pack H&N products with care (i.e. not Amazon).

The pure Alumunium blocks are 99,9%.(highest grade) and then mixed in a process. For airplane skins or doorknobs or pellets, Every thing has different other metals in it. People call it all "Aluminium". But all is aloy. As the bullet makers will have the percentages kept secret. Nice to see, as it was a shitty job , they also make pellets of it.
