Every year in the late summer, I pack up my R65 and head back to my hometown to see my family. Along the way, I come across beautiful views, spooky cryptids, and a lot of rain. Music by Jason Shaw

The Airheads are greatly underrated. My brothers road 2 airheads across Australia and back without missing a beat. Good to see that you trust the Airheads. Great bikes

The old girl positively humming along on this trip. 😊 As a fellow airhead rider from the UK (1983 R100RS) I really enjoy your relaxed trips through small town America, it’s the sort of travelling I enjoy and there’s no better bike than an airhead to do it on 👍

By the time I got home it was time for a valve adjustment, and the exhaust on one side had actually tightened up a fair amount, so maybe she was humming along a little too quietly! :)
@reinmansmith10 ай бұрын
@@ihutch92 lol …. but she waited until you got home! At least the old girls are easy to tinker with and you don’t need to plug them into a laptop 👍

Love the sound of the bike in your videos. Brings back lots of great memories of riding my R65 and R80rt back in the 80's.

Another enjoyable video. I find "riding like an old man" ensures you become an old man. 🙂

I have/had many Airheads over the years, and have taken many trips just like this one. In fact, I've been on a lot of these same roads countless times and have even visited the Mothman, but I still loved every minute of this video, thanks for sharing! BTW love that bike, never had an R65, now I want one.

Guess you’ve got to add an R65 to the stable now, it’s the only way to tell if you’ll like it! :)

Saw this over morning coffee. Thanks for letting me tag along. I appreciated your naming the roads and towns, at least the interesting ones. It lets us arm chair wanderers follow your route, and revive our own memories if we've been through that part of the country. Your commentary about riding in the wet reminded me of a visit to the DDS. He asked if I clench my teeth at night, as I had micro fractures in the enamel. I said no but then I recalled riding cold and wet for hours and hours and clenching my teeth against the cold. Yeah, that'll do it, he said. Also - mind that "riding like an old man" stuff! Ha!

I recommend getting heated gloves and jacket. It is a total game changer for your cooler days. Especially as you ride some long distances. My wife and i got ours from 'warm n safe.'' Keeps us on the road year round in maryland. Oh, and keep on singing!

I do have a heated vest, I love it. I can’t use it with my rain suit though since I can’t plug it in to the battery connector. :( glad to hear somebody appreciates my singing though haha :)

Another nice video. I think you're upping your game with the added variety of shots. I laughed when you started singing. I do the same thing to make the miles go by.

Thanks for bringing us along once again! Your videos always inspire me to ride my own R65 more. In September I put about 1200 miles on it riding around Norther California. Lots of adventures. I like your tank bag BTW. What kind is it?
@ihutch9210 ай бұрын
It’s a Cortech magnetic tank bag. I’m not sure exactly what size, but it’s great! Easy to grab off the bike and it’s a good home for camera, phone, etc. :)

Another great one. Inspiring me to get a little series going on trips with my R100 GS. Mind sharing your camera/mount setup?

Yeah! I have a chin-mounted GoPro Hero 7 Black for the riding clips. I keep the shutter speed locked and use ND filters to get a bit of blur. Then for the other stuff I’ve got a Sony A6400 with a 4/18-105 lens on it. Tho tbh you can just use a good smartphone camera instead, they’re so good nowadays.

for the bike footage, I have a GoPro Hero 7 black. I use ND filters and lock the ISO at 100 and the frame rate at 24 to get the look I like. :) And for the other stuff is a Sony A6400 with a 4/18-015 lens.

Is there a reason people tend not to put any windshield on airheads?

Aesthetic preference I guess? Some do have stock fairings, but mine never did, so I keep it fairly true to original form. :)
