Thanks for video, install mine today on a 2005. Cut bump stops(jounce bumpers) with a long razor blade. Nice to install these without removing the shocks and coils.

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm going to install on 98 4runner this weekend
@redgreen6103 жыл бұрын
I just installed the Sequoia kit in my 96 4runner. Apparently it's the same kit (it's what they sent me). Mine had no jounce bumper, so the instructions say to run the line upward through the provided spacer (black - approximately 2.5 inches thick). As I was putting new springs in, I had the sway bar links and bottom shock mounts off. Install was pretty easy with everything apart, but I was having difficulty getting lines over nipples -probably due to winter temperatures making plastic less flexible. Anyway, the kit isn't holding air over night, so I will have to check all connections and T fitting connections. Its a special order non-refundable purchase here in Canada, so hopefully it's not the bags. If anyone is doing cold temperature install, it might be an idea to use a heat gun or hair drier to warm tube where it goes over nipple. Little suggestion for routing: to avoid exhaust pipe, you can run the tubing inside the cross member in vicinity of exhaust. There are several holes on top and bottom of cross member from factory. Edit: I did a soap test, couldn't detect any bubbles anywhere. I immersed schrader valve in water - no bubbles. It was too slow a leak to find. In case someone has the same issue. I switched the schrader valve (I'm using one and the T fitting), took apart all the unions and re-cut tubing. This time I used a heat gun to soften tubing and applied aviation gasket maker to each union. The aviation cement and heat made it much easier to put tubing on. Now it holds air over night. Not sure if it was the valve or the other unions, just happy I can finally get the truck off the jack stands and use it.

Thanks for the comment. You're right about cold weather having a big effect on plastic tubing making it stiff and difficult to work with. A heated garage would be really nice but I don't have that luxury either at this point. I hope you're able to figure out why it's leaking.

Does this only help with ride comfort or does it enhance the truck's towing capabilities too?
@MarshallBLewis2 жыл бұрын
I installed it for the towing benefit of not having the back end sag down when towing a heavy trailer. I don't think it's designed to enhance ride comfort. I think it makes the suspension stiffer all the time, not just when towing.

Have you used them in low temperatures? - 20 Celsius and below. How do they behave after a while?
@MarshallBLewis3 жыл бұрын
yes, I"ve had them on my Sequoia for two winters so far, both have gotten down to that temp or below, no issues so far. Still holding air and going strong.

My sequioa has a bit of rear squat without anything on the hitch- will the airbage level it a bit or only prevent more squat when trailering? Thanks
@MarshallBLewis10 ай бұрын
I'm not really sure but my thought would be to look at another Sequoia similar year and see if it has the same rear squat look and if it does then that's normal, if it doesn't then maybe there's an issue with yours that's causing it.

Thanks. How do you like the location of the valves?
@MarshallBLewis3 жыл бұрын
It's great. No problems. I would do the same thing again.

Nice how have these held up?
@MarshallBLewis10 ай бұрын
Great no problems so far. I mostly keep them at 10 PSI throughout the year when I'm not towing cuz I only tow a heavy load once every few years

Did the bags lift your vehicle at all?
@MarshallBLewis Жыл бұрын
No. They just keep it from sagging when towing a heavy load
@christophervela5447 Жыл бұрын
So whT is the point to having these helper bags on our vehicle?
@MarshallBLewis Жыл бұрын
It keeps your vehicle from sagging way down when you're towing a heavy load. There's no reason to install them if you're not towing.

How are the bags holding up? Is the quality good?
@MarshallBLewis3 жыл бұрын
They're holding up good after two years with salt spray in the winter and everything else. Only towed a few times, I keep them around 10-20 psi probably when not towing.

For my 2007 2wd limited sequoia, the instructions say the nipple on the bag points down. Did you get different instructions?
@MarshallBLewis3 жыл бұрын
I don't remember what the instruction said. I don't have them anymore. I don't think it makes a difference if it fits pointing down as long as it doesn't pinch the nipple and air tube. I'm guessing the reason I did it pointing up at the time was because I didn't think it would fit pointing down. You'll have to see if there's a hole going through the bottom of the suspension that you can route the little air tube through
@emitor3 жыл бұрын
@@MarshallBLewis The kit in your video has a red spacer, that helps protect the nipple from being pinched. My kit does not include that. It's probably a different AirLift part #. Doesn't matter, I'll figure it out with the help your video and the instructions. Thank you for posting your video and for responding.
