My favorite memory in travel…My daughter and I would watch airplanes at MKE. She was 4 or 5 years old and could name all the airlines from her car seat! Today, 21 years later, she is an airline pilot. Her grade school teacher said, as she always looked out the school window, you’ll never get a job by looking out the window. Guess she was wrong. Congratulations on 100,000

In 1976, my Dad scraped together enough money to fly the family to California to visit our grandparents. That flight on a TWA 707 changed my life and I've been an aviation & travel junkie for (nearly) 50 years since. Related to that, I appreciate the way your channel celebrates the whole travel process; but, from an insiders perspective. Thank you!

My favorite travel memory was at the age of 8, I embarked on an unforgettable journey that would ignite a lifelong passion for aviation. From SFO to HNL to GUM, and then on smaller planes to Saipan and Tinian, each step brought me closer to my destiny. Mid-flight, the pilot asked if I wanted to take the controls, and despite my mother's hesitation, I eagerly accepted. Guiding the aircraft, I felt an indescribable thrill that sparked my love for flying. Since then, I've become a private pilot, served in the Army as a Chinook helicopter pilot, and now fly for a regional airline, fueled by the dream of one day joining a major airline. That single moment changed my life forever, forever binding me to the sky.

Favorite travel memory: Just last year I decided to run a full marathon. I didn't pick just any marathon; I chose the Jungfrau marathon in Switzerland. I trained for months and months, and finally flew out to Switzerland (first time) in September. We spent a day in Zurich and then took a train to Interlaken. The country is insanely beautiful. The day before the race my wife and I paraglided over the town and it was spectacular. The next morning, I ran 26.2 miles through stunning villages, along a river, and up a mountain. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it might have been the best too. We went back to Switzerland again 3 months later because we loved it so much and my wife even wants to move there now. If you ever have the chance to travel...DO IT.

My favourite flight memory is flying into Oslo Gardermoen in winter, the view as we started to come in to land was like something out of a fairy tail. My favourite memory of an activity when travelling was sailing along Loch Ness at midnight, lit by a full moon in a pair of canoes that we'd joined together and added a tarpaulin sail to, it was eerie and beautiful and a memory I'll never forget.

My favorite travel memory was going to Niagara Falls, Ontario on our honeymoon. I did not want to go they're because that's where my parents went in the 50's. We got there and I did not want to leave the rim of the horseshoe falls! The falls were so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off them. This is also when I realized my husband made no reservations for our entire trip. We spent an hour in the Table Rock gift shop on the pay phone, yes, pay phone... it was 1987, trying to find a room. Newly married, not much money, we had to pay $150 for one night because it was the only place we could find a room! There was a good exchange rate at that time with the American dollar, so my husband's response at my reluctance to pay that much was "Is ok, it's Canadian money!" We loved Niagara Falls, Ontario so much, we've gone back every year we've been married, with the exception of the pandemic years. ❤😊. Now when I want to buy something up there, even 30 plus years later, I tell my husband, "It's ok, it's Canadian money!" 😊

I’m a single dad of a soon-to-be-10 year old daughter. I’m a part-time maths teacher and, up until COVID was working part-time for an airline, so benefited from cheap travel. Several times a year, beginning when my daughter was about three years old, the two of us have been heading-off somewhere around Europe, and sometimes the US, to see the sights, have some fun, and ensure my daughter is being exposed to as much as possible. Every trip is wonderful and magical, and they continue to be this way even though I’m now paying full-fare as the non-rev travel days have ended! It’s the best of times, and long may it continue. Thanks for developing a great channel and filming inspiring videos, particularly those involving your family - which, for me, are just as interesting as the flying.

While in college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX (1992-1996), the Tech Band “The Goin’ Band from Raider Land” was invited to march at the St Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin, Ireland. About 200 (of just over 400) of us were able to go. Most of us had never been out of Texas, much less the US. That trip was the best. We were there for 6 days in Ireland an 2 days in London on the way back. We toured all over Ireland. The Cliffs, Waterford, everywhere. We were warmly welcomed everywhere we went. And offered Guinness every, too. I tried, I tried hard but couldn’t drink it, but I’m not much of a drinker. During the parade, we were cheered on as if we were a local group. It was just amazing. We arrived late into London and those of us with tickets to Les Miserables were almost denied entry! But we got in and I’ve never seen anything like it. It was the 1st major musical I saw live. The next day I went alone on the Underground to meet some of my friends to see a musical called “The Buddy Holly” story. He was a singer/songwriter born in Lubbock. After the matinee, we spoke to some of the cast at the stage door because they had better accents than we did! We had some Lubbock trinkets to share with people we met and we gave that cast. I’m still good friends with a few people that were on that trip and it’s something I will always treasure. And of course my mom, she went with us. Without her I couldn’t have gone. Watching your videos reminded me again how much fun we had. Thank you for sharing.

My favorite travel memory: We just returned from a trip to Germany. It was the first time my boys traveled on an airplane (that they could remember) and they were able to meet their great grandmother for the first time. It connects friends, people and strangers across the world.

It was February 8th 2022 my 41st birthday. I was I was so terrified 😬and expressed that this was my first time flying to the pilot as I boarded. He joked that they only crash a few times a year. I responded with bulging eyes but he quickly made it clear that he was only joking 🙃 My neighbor on the flight was really nice and was understanding of my fear of flying. She reassured me that everything would be fine and she allowed me to hold her hand during take off. I mumbled screamed under my breath as I was taken away by the force of the take off. Once in the air I felt a little woozy from the turbulence but the views from the skies were worth it. Great videos, lovely family. Thanks for sharing your world. It’s so cool. I picked the window seat and just watched out the window from takeoff to landing. Seeing the stars more clearly and passing objects like satellites on a night flight reminded me that it was only a 66 year gap from the first flight to the moon landing, and how lucky i was to be all the way up at cruising altitiude to see what i was looking at. Aside from all the a,aging things the country has to offer, it really made me enjoy some of the simplest things. I was about 10 years old when I went, but I’ll never forget how tight knit the neighbors were. It felt like one giant family. I remember racing on bikes with other kids my age and loving it so much despite the heat, humidity, and the fact my bike didn’t even have a seat. My dad had yelled at me for riding it, because he thought it was dangerous, and I started crying in frustration because I was having the time of my life. I’ll also never forget how freaky the approach felt coming into Beirut at night. The darkness over the Mediterranean made it seem as if the plane was flying only a few feet over the water, my depth perception was so messed up, and while the idea of that scared me I was fascinated by it!

My favorite travel memory is when I went to live in the South of France (Montpellier) for five months while my parents were teaching there/on a sabbatical. It was amazing going on quick and beautiful train rides throughout France and Barcelona. It was somewhat hard to speak the language but I took 2 years of French before and during my time there in French public schools- with lots of vacations. We toured around Northern France such as Normandy, Lyon, and other places as well as Switzerland and Italy. I always write down the things that we did in a little travel journal the day of so that I can remember and cherish those family moments spent with family. I'm going again to Europe in a few days and can't wait to experience a new country on my bucket list!!

My favorite travel memory was flying in 2019 from CVG to JFK with United. It was my first time in a plane as an adult and it helped me fall in love with flying. I was pursuing a career as a clinical psychologist and that memory of flying and seeing the world from up there persuaded me to change my career to aviation after I graduated. I’m now in flight school and super close to getting my PPL! Aviation influencers like you helped me get the courage to change my career so thank you so much for showing the world how awesome aviation is. Congrats on 100K!

Congrats on 100K. My favorite memory was flying from IAD to Beijing on a United 747 in businesses class. It was daylight the whole way and our Polar route took us right over the North Pole in CAVUK conditions. My eyes were glued to the window over the North Pole and all of a sudden we had been heading north but now we were heading south. When we got to Beijing we were vectored for 45 minutes on a typical hazy low vis day in China. The Captain got on the PA and announced that the only thunderstorm in China was right over the airport so we had to divert to an alternate whose name I can’t remember. I was right behind the cockpit and the pilot was trying to arrange fueling. The flight attendants were concerned about the dogs in the baggage. After an hour we finally departed for Beijing and arrived at the brand new terminal. It was definitely a flight to remember.

A 16 hour flight on Emirates from ORD-DBX, followed by a 7 hour flight from DBX-LUN the following day to meet my wife's parents, and introduce them to their grandchildren. A visit to Victoria Falls followed by a Safari in Chobe National Park with family was outstanding. Love your content, keep it coming.

Honestly, the one that comes to mind is the one that got me into aviation in the first place. It was back in the summer of 2005 when I took my very first flight aboard a Delta Airlines MD-88. It was a rather long flight for that type of plane being just under 4 hours but when I got off, the pilot was standing there and he asked if I wanted to go in and see the flight deck. Obviously, as a kid that was the best and coolest thing that can happen. Afterwards, has my father and I were leaving the flight deck, the captain looked me in the eyes and said, "you're going to be a great pilot one day, just like me." 17 years later, and I am inching towards that goal, roadblocks aplenty, but they haven't stopped me. Those words from that particular airline pilot are what keeps me going today!

We traveled through Scotland and Ireland a few years ago. The best stay was in Galway!! The town was beautiful, the food was great, and everywhere was entertainment!! We saw a “hen do”, and the next morning we watched the send off of Irish troops to Afghanistan. They towns people were amazing! We took a tour of the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. Our guide helped to birth a goat while we were on the island. It was the most authentic experience we could have asked for! Mind you, all this happened in the 2 nights we were there.

my happiest memories are from a few spots that have quite a few people at once, with just the right mood. It's more about the people, for me. I like pedestrian places, where you mostly see people going on foot and you don't hear the sound of engines. So a few places check these boxes. My favorite is Venice, in shoulder season and avoiding the most busy parts.

Favorite travel memory was traveling to Sydney Australia from LAX on Airbus 380 and back traveling in both economy and business, seeing a beautiful country and amazing sights. Traveling to Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale in South Australia and visiting all of the wonderful wineries there. Amazing trip.

My husband became disabled overnight and we had to move back to the UK from Spain. Our friends gifted us a cruise to Hawaii cos they were so inspired by our story and my husband not being paralysed. We've always been adventurers so I managed to get him on a boat in Lahaina to go whale watching. My husband is amazing as he never gave up even when things looked as bad as they can get. Today he walked 50metres with Nordic walking poles. Now everyday is an adventure, not to give up and keep the challenges going. I love your videos and your optimism. That's what life is all about x

Favorite travel memory was getting to see places where my dad lived in Germany, before he moved to the states as a pre-teen with a good friend of mine from high school when we were 30 somethings.

The first time we took our kids on a flight is priceless. We pulled them out of school early and told them we were driving to San Diego. We stopped for lunch before leaving town and ended them boarding passes while they ate They were so excited.

Congratulations on reaching your 100K subscriber milestone! My favorite travel memory is from our Family's Alaska Cruise in 2006, we left the house at 5am to get to LAX for an early morning flight. Upon arriving at the airport we were checking in and it was at that moment my parents realized in the rush to get out of the house they forgot the garment bag with all of the dress attire on the floor in the master bedroom! After some panicking from my mom, my dad finally got to fulfill his long-time travel motto, "Whatever you don't have, Buy it" so we all went shopping on board the ship for dress attire for the formal nights on the cruise. Expensive lesson I am sure but it has always been a funny memory to look back on.

Kauai. Best ever. Kids were young enough to enjoy the trip, we toured in a red jeep the whole island and saw everything. Experienced everything. And loved it so much! Your channel has encouraged our 18 year old daughter, Hope to be a pilot. She's in ATP now. So proud of her. And very thankful for your channel.

My favorite travel memory is flying from Incheon International to SeaTac after spending three years living there. It was my 10 month old daughter's first flight, and it was the end of 2020. Our flight had very few passengers, and the flight attendants couldn't have been kinder, making sure we and our daughter were absolutely comfortable. They even gave us a second row so that we could take turns sleeping. Thankfully, our daughter slept the whole flight, and when she woke up for our descent into SeaTac, she was laughing and smiling. When we landed, our daughter met her grandparents for the first time ❤ She loves flying, and whenever her daddy goes away to fly, she tells him she wants a turn. 😄

My favorite travel memory is an early one when I was young. On a family camping trip to Niagra Falls, we all went on the boats that ride under the falls. We had raincoats on and because I was so small and wearing a black raincoat, everyone thought I looked like a penguin. I've always remembered Niagra Falls as a really fun family trip. Paul - your videos are fun and very informative. I have a whole new appreciation for being a pilot.

My favorite travel memory was a trip I took with my mom, great aunt and grandmother to South Fork, CO. We got lost on a backroad but ended up at the most beautiful look out point with a gorgeous sunset. I lost my grandmother the next year to breast cancer.

Favourite travel memory - I travelled solo around America for 3 months in 2003. I traveled by bus from the east coast to the west coast. I saw so many amazing things and met so many, kind, welcoming and thoughtful Americans. They were a credit to your nation. Ps I’m from the U.K.

I think my favorite travel memory was when my wife and I travelled with my parents to Scotland and England. Scotland always has that sweet smell of it rains and the scenery in the Scottish Highlands is incredible! We had a great time in London visiting the Zoo and even finding a tiny little restaurant called the Dockland's Diner, in the Dockland's area, that had an outstanding breakfast!

My greatest memory traveling was our honeymoon trip to Oahu. There was a lot of "first" for my wife and I. Our first wide body trip (777), our first time in a different time zone, and our first time being outside of the continental US. But the greatest memory of all was our helicopter tour of the island. I remember seeing fuel sheen still leaking from the USS Arizona. It was a surreal moment for me because it just wasn't a picture or video of history, it is a moment of history that still can be witnessed today. Cheers to 100k!
