Right sere0321. CAS with the Marine Corps is something we have perfected since the 1930's. The Army Air Corps didn't start working with it until the outset of WWII. The biggest blow to CAS within the Marines came during the Korean War when Gen. Ridgeway took away Marine air assets and spread them for the other services (namely the Army). Air Force Sabres were mainly used for aerial combat and the bombing and strafing of railyards and factories in the North and China.
