Hi Sean, Thanks for doing a “non-influencer” honest review of the Nano Plus. I have one on order and very much look forward to getting it. I’m actually happy getting my first non-DJI drone. DJI has made some business decisions that have left me with a lot of expensive non-supported equipment. I think the Nano Plus looks like it could be serious competition to DJI’s sub 250 gram drone and, as you say, competition is a good thing in the drone world these days.

I've been looking forward your first impressions review. So many other reviews never get past talking about the camera, which seems really good. I've seen a few others talk about the how slow it flies if there is any wind at all, and your review confirms that. Nothing more scary than not being able to fly your drone back to you. I think the Nano has a lot of potential, I just hope they get all the issues worked out via firmware upgrades. I will pass on getting this drone until it's a more finished product.

Best drone reviewer on KZbin... Completely unbiased. Thanks. I'll be a first time drone purchaser so I've been picky on what I want to throw my money on. This seems to be a Beta version. So I'll be probably going to Air2s or the Evo lite... thanks again

How do you figure it is beta anymore than the lite? It's not even released yet. They only thing lacking is some software that will come shortly.
@510BIGD2 жыл бұрын
@@UncleChuckApproved When you throw out a product that still needs fixing and updates, it's still in the testing mode. (Not complete). They should held off on releasing till it was completed, and that includes to all the product influencers. That's why they really haven't released it to the general public so they can fix what they should of to begin with.
@UncleChuckApproved2 жыл бұрын
@Dave Shaw they did not release this to influencers as he stated, he purchased direct from China. Also, DJI and Autel have always released new product with limited software functionality, this is nothing new. If you are looking at a first purchase, it can be tricky deciding what you need in your aircraft. 249 gram drone are unique, but will be less capable in wind and typically have limited functionality software etc, but are nice because they are truly pocket sized. The Air 2S you mention is one of the best drones on the market, the price is a little high, but is a very feature rich drone, with a fantastic camera, I just purchased one myself. Best of luck

thank you for your honest review! A relative big dealer in my country says this is so much better than the dji mini 3 pro .. he glorified it . I myself exrienced many loss connections in mavic air - and even lost one due to the problematic 2.4 hz regulation in my country --- 5.8 is not allowed here so if one wants to fly with better reception he needs to hack it . that is my main conern about dji's products here and in general .

Thanks for the honest review. I'm a Evo 1 owner. I do NOT share your optimism that Autel will address all the issues you pointed out ... since they never fully addressed the 'horizon issues' with the Evo 1 (even the Evo 2 had some horizon issues!). Your experience flying in wind would be terrifying. My UAV/drone experience goes way back, and I remember so many guys experiencing 'fly-aways' (some of those drone companies are gone .. thank the gods). Autel has also been way behind DJI on battery performance/integrity . ALL my Evo 1 batteries died within a year. I have batteries for my DJI Phantom 3 Adv. that are 6 years old & still good. (btw, I have almost 60 years of RC flying experience, so I do know how to maintain rechargeable batteries). I'm thinking that DJI will come out with the Mini 3 .. perhaps as early as next month. It may have some 'issues' when 1st released, but I have more confidence that DJI will address those issues in short order (compared with Autel's less than stellar issue history). Cheers from right across the lake on the shore of Lake Erie.
@ivaneberle39722 жыл бұрын
@Lon Denard 4 years ago when the Orig Evo was launched. Was it 6 for the X-star? Autel has become the biggest competitor to DJI since, and it's not because problems didn't get addressed. Since then the Evo 2 put the company on a different level. They now have a revenue base and production capacity that will enable them to iterate yet again for Remote ID as needed. (I don't have similar optimism about X-dynamics or Parrot or Skydio surviving RID rollout) I've been flying an AE2 Pro 6K for the past year +. have not had a serious mishap, and besides sorting through firmware and app version bugs and re-installs, it has required nothing in the way of maintenance or repairs. Can't say that about the Schlutter Heliboy I started flying in 1979 with (nitro .10cc) or the 2 scratchbuilt helicopters that my brother and I built to replace it!

I'm thinking the Air 2S or the Lite as an upgrade but the price difference is quite a bit. I'm sure a lot of reviews including yours will compare the Lite series with the Mavic Air 2 and 2S and look forward to seeing the video. The size of Mavic Air and Nano are so appealing. Another great review Sean. Mine should come end of this week and we'll see how well it performs right out of the box. I plan on testing flight time with the OA off. It should get you another 2 minutes of flight time...well see. I really don't fly in cat 5 winds but as you said others have had this drone perform poorly in those conditions and only going into sport mode could they get it home. Not sure what else they can do other than trying to make more power available to the motors; but that could overheat them and put a good drain on the battery. Not sure what the motor specs are. Have you had any disconnect issues as a few others have had?

Thanks for the review, but I'm SICK and TIRED of hearing all drones have hickups. That shouldn't be the case EVER. Autel and DJI use paying customers as beta testers. How is it possible to release a product without putting it through all the tests and fixing all the issues before shipping? Giving companies like this a "pass" and saying "that's just the way it is" is BS. To this day Autel still has horizon tilt issues. How is that even possible?!!! I'm done. Once they stopped making batteries for the Evo 1 - I called it quits. You can buy DJI batteries all day long. For Autel to keep screwing over their customers just because the kid who owns the company (I forgot his name) thinks it's ok - says volumes about them. They used to care and after firing their new CEO after a couple weeks - well the writing is on the wall. Please stop giving these guys a pass. As consumers, we need to say enough is enough and vote with our wallets.

It's not because of the cold temperature in Canada that you had issues with the weak motors of this drone, here in Italy at + 12 or +13 Celsius several pilots almost lost it on their first flight in a moderately wind condition ( level 2 or 3 ) cause it kinda flies away. So I guess wherever you are in the world better not fly this Autel on windy days regardless of the temperature. I personally am not going to buy it. In addition range tests even in rural areas rarely excedeed 1.3 Km on average. This is a 600/800 metres safe- range drone. I can only imagine how unstable the connection would be in a crowded wi-fi cellular polluted city environment. This drone would probably work as it should in 6 months from now after many updates . To me it doesn't make any sense rushing incomplete drones out without proper firmware and based on the future promise that it is going to work just fine in a year form now ! That's not evolution. That's unfinished business. Disappointed.
