When I first saw this, I was about 12 years old and was in Africa in the 80s, the person who showed us this said we would love this movie. 42 years later, still love it and never grow tired of watching it. It still would make me laugh. Surely, others do.

Movie theaters suck. You're in a place with strangers that make noise and talk at the wrong time. There's nothing like having a good quality AV system, having your friends come over and enjoying it that way. Reason why big theaters were cut up into 12 small ones. They're not what they used to be.

Most of what passes for comedy these days leaves me cold, but THIS is one of the funniest movies ever made. There is a subtle gag most people don't notice. When the plane, a Boeing 707 jetliner I believe, is just cruising along the sound is of a propeller airliner. I don't know but I suspect they used the same soundtrack used in Zero Hour, which of course DID have a propellor airliner.

awesome movie airplane is and I guarantee you this, a movie like this would have never been made in today's times of changing. I'm being serious, this movie would have never been made today. This is back when movies were great, awesome, timeless, epic and hilarious. This is why I love the 80's movies more than movies of today. Today movies are barely worth, well you're lucky to catch a break here and there with a good today. The 80s or just an awesome decade. And the younger generation would never know, because they don't show these type of movies on television anymore like they use to either.
