The producers of “Airplane!” contacted MacKenzie’s CEO, Addison Taylor (nicknamed “Doc”), to find out who had recorded the voices on the LAX repeated message that said: “The white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only. No parking!” It was repeated over and over by two voices, male and female. It happened that Doc (who had been a radio announcer) and his wife Pat had made those recordings-so they ended up being hired to tape the off-color comic dialog between the two voices in the movie. Little did they know at the time that they had played a small, uncredited part in what would become an iconic comic film.
