Scary glassy water landing! Looks just like the sky! Good job! Great review of this rare bird.

My grandpop owned one of these when I was a kid. We had so much fun flying her. Then we upgraded to a Cessna 185 on amphib floats. Special place in my heart for the Teal though.

The reflection of the airplane when its a couple of feet off the water is absolutely incredible!! Probably one of the coolest views in aviation!!

It always has been my dream to fly on a sea plane! that's so cool!!!😎😎

Really glad you enjoyed it. Sea planes or float planes are a really unique world. I was very jealous when a friend got to fly in a Beech 18 on floats earlier this year!

Amazing to see a Thurston Teal review like this. Thanks for sharing! A friend of mine in Florida is looking for one to purchase right now. Trying to find one. Fingers crossed : )

I was watching. Great review. Thanks for mentioning me 😎. Our Teal is in a pretty sorry state at the moment with no engine and ripped out interiour but the engine has a brand new cam shaft in it and we recieved a new Dynon Sky View yesterday. Aiming to be up and running by late may 🙂 /Martin

The upgrades will be fantastic once completed. I hope it all goes smoothly. Did you have a bad lobe on the camshaft?

Really glad you liked it. Fun airplane to fly once you have spent a good bit of stick and rudder time in her. I hope your airplane is going well? It would be a great candidate for me to review!

Great video. I have a '56 Skimmer at Smith's Falls, very interesting comparison. You're in the Peterborough area I think? We should get together for butter tarts one day! Cheers

Can you add spades to the ailerons.
@fastbackflying8532 жыл бұрын
It would be a good idea. I would have to look at regulations to determine how this could be done legally to a certified aircraft of this type.

I wonder if the Volmer vj 22 was an influence of this design?? A lot of similarities.

Speed was never a concern for me, so I normally put the gear up right away in case of an emergency… There was always lots of water around for an emergency landing.
