I remember watching this with my grandpappy back when he was still alive. He literally laughed himself to death, specifically at the knife part. After the EMS team showed up, they accidentally unpaused the movie from doing CPR on him, and then the medics started busting out laughing too. RIP pappy

My brother for years worked in construction. One day he was on a job in Malibu, and for his lunch break he opted to take a stroll on the beach. During his walk he met Robert Hays and they walked together for a spell. After some idle conversation my brother said 'I remember you... You were in that movie Airplane!' His response was classic: ' That's the one you remember?' Don't worry Robert, you may not have had the most prodigious career as maybe some of your fellow actors, but in that role, you absolutely knocked It out of the ballpark! A legacy role for sure.
