One of Ireland’s best. He *sounds* like Ireland. I grew up listening to traditional Irish music courtesy of me Irish mom. If you’d like a taste of him singing traditional Irish music, check out his collaboration with the incomparable Chieftains, Irish Heartbeat. From the upbeat and danceable (Irish dances, mind you) “I’ll Tell Me Ma” and “Marie’s Wedding,” to the haunting “Carrickfergus,” it will fill your soul. ☘️💚

It's why he's called Van the Man. Might really like his live performance with on the Band's movie "The Last Waltz"--you reviewed "The Weight" with the Band and the Staples earlier. The Van performance is from the same concert--the whole movie is great. Considered the greatest live concert movie every made (Martin Scorcese is the Director and conducts interviews during the movie!)--Dylan, Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Paul Butterfield, Muddy Waters all do individual songs with the Band.
