Van sings about love. But love to him is something deeper than most singers express. He has a beautiful soul. He doesn't need to impress anyone with his talent or be like anyone else. His music makes the world a better place.

Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" is another of those beloved Van songs, with a sweet, soothing melody and heartfelt lyrics. Van has a way with lyrics, and his vocal talent is impressive. Thanks for playing more, Van Morrison. Great reaction, especially giving a shout-out to the backup singers. Thanks for all the diverse and wonderful music, guys; it's greatly appreciated.

Brothers, they don't call him Van the man for nothing. He's the most soulful Irishman on the planet. You can hear the R&B, soul and gospel in many of his songs. He also throws in big horn sounds like James Brown.. You can't go wrong with Van Morrison. He's got a boat load of hits. If you want to hear a real upbeat track with big horns sound check out "Domino" it won't disappoint you!! Great selection, you guys are starting the day out with a few long home runs.

Hey La & Che, here's another artist that I think you might like checking out some of his solo work, if interested. This is John Fogerty the lead singer for "CCR" "John Fogerty - The Old Man Down The Road" (channel: John Fogerty) --This song was released in 1984 as the lead single from Fogerty's comeback album called "Centerfold." It became Fogerty's only Top 10 hit single as a solo artist, peaking at no. #10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and spent 3 weeks in the no.# 1 spot. In otherwards gents a Banger. "Van the Man" did it again...man I love his vocals, simply beautiful stuff, bro.

This is from "Moondance", Van's follow-up to his first album "Astral Weeks" (discounting, as Van does, "Blowin' Your Mind!" on the Bang label). You could start with "Astral Weeks", then "Moondance", "His Band and the Street Choir", "Tupelo Honey", "Saint Dominic's Preview", etc. Don't skip his 1974 live album "It's Too Late to Stop Now" (the title being the last line from his song "Into the Mystic") which captured performances of his tour with the Caledonia Soul Orchestra. Go for the original release not the additional performances from the 2016 box set - there are some great performances on the box set, but the cuts on the original release were chosen for a reason.

You're so right about the amazing voice Van Morrison has. But, for me, his 1st genius is songwriting. Van has released by my guesstimate about an album a year for the past 50+ years, and he does few covers. On the other hand, when he does cover someone else's music, he really does it right. If you want to get review a cover he does, check out "That's Life". I don't know who wrote it, but Frank Sinatra (going back yet another generation or two!) I really think you'd like it.

With over 45 albums released in his career, how do you pick a song ? This is a great tune from his brilliant third album released in 1970. Don't know if you guys do requests ? but please scroll forward a few years to 1973 and check out the title track from his album " Hard Nose the Highway" . It's Van belting out some jazz inspired bluesy number , I think that's where his soul resides. Guarantee you wont be disappointed

A group I don't think you've hit yet but in my eyes shares a vibe with Van Morrison is Counting Crows. Just like Van, I've never heard Adam Duritz, lead singer for Counting Crows, do a song live the same way twice. "Mr. Jones" was their smash through hit and is a great song, but for the first dip I think "Round Here" is sure to make you come back for more. (Side note: in 2022 I had the great fortune of seeing Counting Crows and Van Morrison back-to-back nights at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. That year also included Sarah McLachlan, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Death Cab for Cutie, Soul Asylum, Stone Temple Pilots, Indigo Girls, and Third Eye Blind, so it was definitely one of the best festivals I've been to)

I had the pleasure of seeing Van 3 times back in the early 70's. Van writes wonderful songs, but as a performer he is, and still to this day, an argumentative, surly, disagreeable person. Both onstage and, as reports say, off stage as well. Try him doing "Gypsy Queen", another soulful tune.

Lovely stuff. Please please please check out one of his lengthier epics, 'Summertime in England' 'You Don't Pull No Punches and You Don't Push the River', 'Listen to the Lion'' or 'Independence Day'. For one of his wildest vocal performances you can't beat 'Cul De Sac'. If you ever do a whole album, 'Veedon Fleece' is the one that works best all the way through, in my admittedly not that humble opinion.
