Honestly, none of the other options compare to how clutch having AirPods are... if u have a iPhone and have AirPods or the new AirPods max the phone is connected to the apple product way better than any other option. There are headphones which are worth the money e.g. Denon D7200 or Beyerdynamic DT1990 (tho last ones are a bit bright for my taste), ofc only if you have a solid audio source and DAC. Nevertheless the Apple ones are probably overpriced

Here’s a tip, everyone’s ears are different. Audiophiles have praised the airpods quite a bit after testing them extensively. Just because frank doesn’t like them doesn’t mean they are overpriced. Just because reviewers are praising them doesn’t mean you should buy them. But after listening to m4s and right after the airpods max. There is absolutely a difference, a pretty significant one, to my ears at least. I don’t regret my purchase at all

And on top of this, in the video Randomfrankp even states how easy these would be to steal if someone was holding them like they are designed to be, and with it being obvious what they are; why wouldn't a thief steal them? Also yes; it does look like a purse, judging a product by appearance is something everyone naturally does. The Xbox series X is a mini fridge, the PS5 is Dr Doofinshmirtz, the cyber truck looks like PS1 Hagrid. Need I go on?

Out of all the reviews I've watched and read, you're the only one that says that the XM3s have the better ANC vs the APM. And you did seem a lil aggressive towards the APM lol. Usually I like your opinion and trust it but I don't know about this time. I agree that the APM definitely have flaws but for audiophiles looking for some extra up to date features, they seem like a good pair of headphones.

I prefer the M4’s over all of them. I seen and heard the sound quality between the M4’s, 700’s and AirPod max and I personally like the quality of the M4’s much better, but I like the AirPod Max material and design the best. And in order to go with recommendations concerning music sound quality, one must assume they not only listen to the same genres, but they also have the same bass, high and mid preferences, which varies between each individual. That’s really something each person needs to hear for themselves when it comes to expensive headphones because some people prefer over powering bass levels, some prefer a more clean bass, while others may be in-between same goes for the mids and highs. With that, any recommendations of ones ear on quality may not compliment another’s preferences concerning something as divers as music. Sorta why some stores have rows of headphones with a selection of music for people to test out for themselves before they buy, probably to lower the return rates on their headphones, which the customer probably bought from someone else’s recommendations or hype and they ended up not feeling the same. Good review.

Here's something that no ones talking about with the Air Pods Max. Having those smooth adjust rails is really unpractical. When i used the Bose 700's it really annoyed me. Unlike with clicky adjustement, its hard to find your perfect fit again. Its not "3 clicks right, 3 clicks left" you just gotta fiddle around to get it right. Which gets really annoying bcs with headphones like that, you'll have to do it often when taking them in and out of a (real) case. Adittionaly, it'll always be asymmetrical. Seems unlike Apple to me but what do i know. Just consider that before buying

I don't get it, why you compare the AirPods Max with Sony XM4 or Bose 700? It's like comparing iPhone 12 with iPhone 7 or 10. With that price tag it should be compared with Focal listen wireless or Beyerdynamic Amiron wireless. The bottom line is, if you want sound quality, go with wired headphones and buy a good Bluetooth DAC to pair it with, or buy phone that have a DAC sound card built in. If you're a regular user and not an audiophile, then do yourself a favor and skip the AirPods Max already. With that price tag, you can go straight to the audiophile section and grab yourself a nice pair of Focal and enjoy a clear and crisp sound profile audiophile experience.

Ok, here’s my little 2 problems: You said “Touch controls are better than reaching to the top of the headphones” but I disagree. I have the XM3s and I ALWAYS accidentally activate Siri when I handle them. You said “The AirPods Max are not suitable for workouts” but imo neither are the Bose 700s nor the XM4s or the THX Pandas. I don’t like getting my ears and head all super sweaty when I’m working out. The earcups of my XM3s basically NEVER get uncorfortable but they do get super disgusting (sweaty and greasy) and sticky. I wipe them every time I take them off. Plus, none of these headphones have sweat resistance...

At $399, these would’ve even been a tough sell. But at $550, no way. I like Apple products but lately they are taking the piss out of their customers. I own the Bose NC700 and they are amazing. They sound clean and balanced and are super comfortable. I got them for 350 bucks but you can already get them for $280 depending on where you look. And they do everything just as good. And I really don‘t get this case and the power options. Isn’t a case made to protect the headphones when you carry them with you. This case offers literally no protection. Then there‘s the fact that you have no option to turn them off. Seriously? I really hope that no one will buy these. Convenience no matter what, please don‘t buy these. Btw, here in Germany, these are $735... Please. To everyone. Just get the Sennheiser Momentum 3 instead if you prioritize sound quality.

I got open back planar magnetic Sundara with portable amp for nearly $500. They are so enjoyable to listen to in quiet room. For noise isolation, I am thinking of going DT770. I already have noise cancelling Bose QC25 and very portable OG AirPods and Fiio FH5 IEMs.

From the way the airpods have worked and programmed, I think the max's ultra low power will stop the headphone from broadcasting itself as available BT device for fast iCloud switching just like regular airpods. Low power mode means that it is off but you can still connect to it or switch to it from other paired devices. Apple like to exaggerate little things but I think in this case, stop the headphone from broadcasting itself is pretty helpful for a "no power switch" device.

Need help with my headset. I bought the Blackshark v2 X for christmas and I really like the Audio but the mic is very quiet (on Discord and my PC settings I already set everything on max) and another thing is that others can hear my output, whether I am muted or not. :/ Is there anyone who had the same issues and knows how to fix it? I own the sony xm4 and Soundcore q35, both are outstanding. I just purchased the iPod max. They are way better to my hearing than the other two. They connect seamlessly to all my apple devices. Because of the price of all three of them,i do not take them out of the house. I have an assortment of earbuds for that. Every one is missing the point of these headphones, they are mainly intended for Apple devices, very well made,simple controls, and great sound. And this final statement,we all know that all Apple products are over priced, its a individual’s choice to buy or not buy. My first phone was android and tablet they did not connect, switching to Apple is the best thing I did in mobile devices.

Good review. Glad you didn't blindly praise the AirPods Max and many other have done. It has a few good points, but not for the price, especially in this country.

I think you should include Sennheisers PXC - 550 II on the headphones to buy instead. Great sound, perfect touch controls, active noise cancelling etc.

I am buying the AirPods Max. I wouldn't recommend them to most people, but they are the perfect fit for me - I live in the Apple ecosystem and I am an audiophile. My previous two favorite pairs were the $350 Beats Solo Pro and the $800 B&O H95. The AirPods Max combine the sound and build quality of the B&O with all the ecosystem integration of the Beats and are more comfortable than either of those - so they are perfect for me. Most people are better off buying the Sonys or the Beats I guess.

Honestly, in terms of app, i prefer sony’s just because they let you use your location and pretty sure some gyros to change ANC setting when im in the mall ANC is full then when i go out to the street, ANC just transitions to 3-4 level setting with no need to push any buttons or configure some settings. Also 3D audio is amazing to me, its limited to some songs but its amazing for me (as a casual listener)
