I've been getting a lot of questions about what happens to the pigeons I've shot at my permissions. In this episode I managed to capture some footage of local felines being very happy with the results of my pest control sessions.

Hello, I grew up on a dairy farm. One of my uncles used to come out to shoot quite often. After a while, he never had to retrieve the quarry. Our farm cats were on hand to do that chore for him. The longer that you shoot at that permission the more the cats are going to be used to you. At some point they'll start following you around for their free meals.

I absolutely agree with you, Wayne 🙂 Happened to me on other permissions of mine before I even started this KZbin channel.

One year one of my younger brothers received a Crossman pneumatic that could shoot BB's or pellets. .117 calibre. He saved up and bought a better, more accurate model that shot .22. Calibre ( again pneumatic, but not pre-charged ). He had it home for one day, then Dad confiscated it for "testing" for a while. It was a handy and accurate little gem. Dad taught all four of us boys to shoot with a Ruger 10-22 that he used for raccoon hunting.

Every time you show the SIK cam footage I think of the song “Let the bodies hit the floor”!😂🤣👍 Great shooting. Love the doubles. I got my very first triple starling kill with a redesigned JSB @ 54 yards pushed to 990 FPS off of a fence wire Saturday. Total accident but very cool to find 3 on the ground after 1 shot👍. I was going for a double and didn’t even see the third😂. I’m so surprised that your .25 cal isn’t punching more holes in the galvanized metal. Did you turn the power down a bit? Thanks for the video. Take care, stay safe, God bless.
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын
Above all thank you for the kind words and for watching, buddy 🤝 In this video I shot the JSB Exact King 25.39 grain at about 900 fps. So they are exactly the weight of your Monsters Redesigned which you shot at a higher velocity, hence the higher power of your gun in this instance 😉 A starling triple sounds great, wish I were there to see! As for the silo walls, these are made of galvanized and very thick steel, you need a center fire to punch a whole in it, I assure you. I've tried shooting 34 grainers at 880 fps from a distance of 20 yards and it doesn't even leave a dent! Just a small speck of lead.

Air Rifle Activities The gun will push them faster than that actually, I think it will max out at 1060 ish. It is the LCS SK-19. When I shot the Starlings, the gun wasn’t turned the whole way up and in fact I have never fired this gun on full power yet. The power knob has 150 levels of adjustment. Most of the time I shoot 15-16 grain pellets 6-8 clicks from minimum power setting at 900-920. With the redesigned JSB 25.39 pellets .22 I think I was set somewhere around 120 clicks with another 30 clicks to go before maxing out the power wheel. The regulator has never been touched and is set at 140 Bar. I ordered 2 WIKI analog gauges yesterday for it and hopefully they will be here in the next month or 2. Semi feature is what I use mostly but the grandkids love full auto. How fast can I get away shooting these JSB redesigned 25.39 .22 cal pellets before they start flying like garbage?

I haven't seen the other comments regarding the white pigeons but I would say the white ones are more likely to be picked out by predators (hawks etc) so to maximise pest control efficiency I would go for the normal coloured ones. Good shooting!
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Will 🙂 That's exactly what some of the guys said. Others claim birds of prey go after the weaker ones and the color makes no difference.
@FollowingGhost4 жыл бұрын
Glad to see you back out. Good shooting as always, I say that a lot lol. The cats need to eat, too. And the white one would have been shot first because someone said not to just because of the color. A color phase pigeon does the same amount of damage as a normal color phase there is no reason not to remove them. I wish the birds were as tame where I shoot. 2 or 3 shots in an afternoon is all you get and they take a long time to commit to landing. Be safe and keep thumping the ferals.
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын
Hey, bud, thank you so much 🙂 Some people tried to convince me that raptors target the unusually colored pigeons with greater ease, so I should let them have those. For some shots I will. But it's not gonna last, especially if I see a lone white perching somewhere 😉 And about the waiting game - I know just how frustrating it can be... I follow your posts with great Interests, by the way 🤝
@FollowingGhost4 жыл бұрын
@@AirRifleActivities the Raptors will take whatever comes easier not by color. I watch them hunt all the time and it is the slow one not the color that gets hit. I appreciate you and all the other shooters who follow along as well as everyone else. Wish I could get set up with a decent scope cam so I could film. Great video! I find these videos taken with the secondary camera (excellent image quality, by the way) much more enjoyable than scope camera ones. The SIK camera is a very welcome addition, too. P.S. The sound of the .25 pellet slamming on the silo wall after achieving a complete body pass-through at 50+ meters is spectacular, but it seems to scare all the pigeons off. In your opinion, would a weaker weapon than your .25 Matador cause less fly-offs?

Нужно приучить котов. Чтобы услышав звук выстрела они сбегались со всей округи есть голубей. Сотнями.
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын

@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын

Why are you killing these blameless pigeons?
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын
Bakhtawar, these pigeons defecate on grain and carry some diseases which can be passed on to humans. Their droppings have a high acidity and they destroy the protective coating of very expensive machinery. That is why farmers and granary owners turn to airgunners for help in the fight against them.
