It always amazes me just how close to the real firearms these well made gas blowback replicas are. It's pretty much as close to being a firearm without being able to convert it into an actual gun. Even the field stripping and cleaning are spot on like you'd do on a real firearm!

@mlee6050 i may be late, but usually after every game, you should clean and relube and regrease the bolt carrier, nozzle, etc. Basically anything that moves with the press of the trigger in a game. For the more tricky internals, you dont have to do it after every game, but depending on how often it is used, you will have to clean it after a few months to about every year to get all that gunk off and re-grease it

Yes, good to leave some propane in the magazines for storage. How much isn't important. If there aren't any leaks, you don't need to grease the o-rings but you can do it once anyway if you want as a sort of preventative maintenance.

Hey, just wanted to know what a good alternative is to super lube since I can't find it in Europe at all. Good guide - Thanks
@ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
Ideally, you want to find a grease with the following set of characteristics: -Safe for o-rings and plastic. Look for compatibility information, and ensure it is considered 'compatible' with nitrile rubber and plastics. -NLGI grade 0-2, preferably 0 or 1, but 2 is the most common. -Includes some form of boundary lubricant additive, such as PTFE or molybdenum. All that said, we recommended Super Lube specifically because it is available in both the US and Europe, so if you can't find it locally you may need to hunt around a bit.

@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
It'll work for metal parts, but we tend to think it's overkill, given that airsoft guns don't really get all that dirty in use by the standards of cars or guns. Soap, water, and isopropyl are generally all you need. But if you do want to use brake cleaner, we suggest keeping it away from anything plastic or rubber, and be sure to thoroughly clean it off when done.

@ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
Both nitrile and silicone rubbers (the only materials anyone's making hop rubbers out of nowadays) are unharmed by isopropyl alcohol, so it's a good solvent for cleaning residue off. It also won't harm plastic, unlike acetone, making it a pretty safe solvent for cleaning airsoft guns in general.

Isopropyl alcohol is safe for nitrile rubber. We don't recommend using anything stronger (like acetone) because nitrile may absorb it and temporarily swell, but isopropyl is fine.

Hi bro, I've heard many people say to never lubricate the hammer and bolt carrier real steel contacts, is this true for a gbbr (and specifically our viper tech)?
@ExplosiveEnterprises Жыл бұрын
The hammer on a real firearm is typically under more tension than its airsoft equivalent, but no reason not to apply a light layer of grease. On a steel fire control group like the VT has, the carrier and hammer typically polish against one another pretty quickly and then don't wear further- the grease just keeps the cycling smooth rather than preventing wear.

What sort of O rings do WE M4's use? I have done a lot of research and it seems like silicon oil is recommended for O rings, and PTFE grease for metal on metal. I just got a WE XM, but have no idea what sort of lube to use apart from PTFE grease. Others say PTFE grease is not safe for the o rings, specifically Superlube Grade 2, and to use silicon oil for that. Is silicon oil ok for nitrile o rings or no? I was sort of confused by that section of the video. Can't really find any good definite sources on the net on what to use.
@ExplosiveEnterprises2 жыл бұрын
WEs are almost exclusively nitrile rubber. Silicone (not silicon) oil is safe for nitrile o-rings, it just isn't ideal, and will tend to need more frequent reapplication. Per the manufacturer's chemical compatibility chart, standard Super Lube grease is also safe for nitrile rubber, which is why we recommend it (and have had great success using it in a wide variety of replicas and magazines). If someone is saying it isn't safe for the o-rings, we would like to see substantiation or at least an explanation of why.
