I have one of these and they are heavy and a three point sling is recommended an an authentic accessory. When I skirmish it it gets a lot of attention. The gear box has three settings for the spring so it's easy to set up as close to 350fps as possible. The selector is always getting knocked from auto to semi where it rubs against my jacket when shouldered.

I love it and going to play my first game on the 16th. Shooting at 347 fps and the long barrel, I’m sure it’s going to be fun. I have a 2 point sling but may change if needed. I’ll let you know how it goes. (Video to follow) I know it’s heavy but I can’t wait to play a forest game with it. I run a saw 249 so this is a feather weight for me…….. maybe. Nice review. Cringed eveytime you called it a gun. Its a rifle or weapon system. Big sin calling the rifle a gun, instructors and any skill at arms course would get very annoyed at you for that. Love the L85. Loved the L98 as a cadet. Cracking piece of kit

Thank you so much for watching and for the comment. I’m so sorry to have made you cringe so many times. I did not know that by the way. I thought/used the term “gun” as a weapon that shots a projectile. I agree that I should have refereed to the l85 as a rifle(battle rifle?). In the uk we’re only allowed air rifles or shotguns and nothing automatic. Thank you for taking the time and letting me know. I like the L85 too but it’s very different to anything else I have. ⁠@@corruptcape2776gun is a perfectly usable word for the l85 in this video. The military call it a rifle. This is airsoft, not the military so gun is a perfectly acceptable name. Also, the l85 in the video, due to it being an airsoft gun, doesn’t have any rifling. You can make the argument that it is factually not a rifle due to the lack of rifling but I’m being pedantic.

It may be the British Army standard personal weapon but the MOD needed to upgrade the A1 and the program was carried out and completed by the German Heckler & Koch company.

@@CaptDAR funny that it was a German company engaged to upgrade the gun, but did you know that it was originally a British company but sold a few years before.

Nice video Andrew. Interesting AS rifle. I was trained on the 80. Does it have the 3-burst mode?

No full auto or single shot. Did you like the 80? Do you think you would have liked the l85? I did not know that you served. I would have been a lot nicer to you if I had off.

@@AndrewSkipp I was not in the Military, although I do have Veteran status, but one of my best friends was and subsequently became the MOD training officer at a Dismounted Close Combat Trainer unit where I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at the barracks. Didn’t particularly like the 80. My favourite was the Minimi light machine gun manufactured by FN Herstal of Belgium. My Captain’s title used to help at Gate Security 😉

What’s the 80? Do you mean SA80? Having used both the A1 and A2, I can say no version of it has a three round burst.

No problems as I’ve not had to strip it down. Mine shoots at around 345 fps so no need to remove the spring…. Sounds like you maybe have had a very different experience? Thanks for watching and for the question. 👍
