Gear ratio hasnt anything to do with FPS, with a higher gear ratio you can pull a stronger spring, that spring will increase your FPS, but the gears alone won't.

@@LazzurusMan "trying to increase your fps or rate of fire, Airsoftstation has the gears youre looking for", if you want more fps you start with a diffrent spring, not diffrent gears since gears dont change fps directly, you upgrade what is necesary to maintain that fps, rof or trigger response reliable. I know they said "With a higher ratio your rof will be less but you would be able to pull a stronger spring" Wich is correct but I just wanted to point out, many people believe changing gears will have a direct fps change.

The fun funny thing is that I put in shs 12:1 in my vfc 416. Stock it had 20 RPS, it now has 14rps..... Well back to shiming

I'm 8 years late but for anyone getting into Airsoft Tech like me and if you like this probably means the mainspring is a bit too strong for the motor at that ratio so you would want to look into getting a higher TPU motor (higher torque) an 18 TPU motor may be faster than a 22 but that means nothing if the 18 can't even turn against the resistance of the spring.

Oi coloquei engrenagem 12:1 na minha ares 013, e agora mesmo no semi ou ful ela da uns 6 tiros e para mais uns seis tiro e para de vez pra voltar do tirando a bateria e colocando denovo, sera que o ímã ficou fraco? Usei o ímã original oque vc acha?
