Especially when you started using machine gun fire when they still had 0 idea where you were and MGs wont do anything to shermans besides spot them while you have no teammates. I think it could be really interesting to replicate the Battle of the Bulge. 3 M4A1 (76)W Shermans, a couple M18 Hellcat, 2 M4A3 (76)W Sherman, 1 M36 and 2 Stuart III light tanks against 3 Panther G's, 2 Panther A's and only one Tiger 1 E (late version with zimmerit). Who else thinks this would be really cool and interesting to replicate?

This reminds me of the first Gulf War. Dug in Abrams were being fired at by T-72s and T-55s of the Iraqi Republican guards. Their "long shots" were falling 10 to 15 feet short, while the Abrams were hitting turret shots on enemy tanks.

With a limited battlespace and bad terrain even obsolete weapons can deal damage. Tracks are still tracks and guns are still guns. You can't really harden those too much against being hit.

SS Panzer Division nicknamed as „Das Reich“, he was a gun operator of a Tiger Tank, he told me Stories, that the Tiger Tank was capable to destroy every Single Tank even with an HE Shell if you have a great tactic, he also once showed me a Photo where he and his crew can be seen next to 4 destroyed Shermans around northern France, the Engines were still burning, so it might have been taken during Action, but the Tiger couldn't operate because it was hit on the turret Edge, so the turret couldn't move, but this was a truely incredible thing that could have happened on the battlefield

In fact, nothing is safe from artillery fire. Even if you're sitting in the most modern tanks. Intentional exposure to ammunition is unwise. The 76mm gun can still knock sensors and jam some parts. It may interfere with the operation of the turret and crawler rings. even if it doesn't penetrate the armor inside It will scratch your armor plate. Even if in the end you win without the crew hurt. But you definitely don't want to spend money on unnecessary repairs. everything is expensive Indeed, not being attacked is the best defense. Tanks are designed to withstand attacks. But your wallet isn't designed to make you spend extravagant things like deliberately making avoidable damages.

In actuality the American government knew that the Sherman was really a death trap, but the talking heads figured that superior numbers over German superior armor was the way to go , only in the last quarter of ww2 did those fools in government decide on better armor and fire power . My father was in an armored division in ww2 , part of a Sherman crew for a while and then on a M-7 With the 105mm Howitzer , not much protection on the M-7 but he said he felt better knowing they had a cannon that would kill any German tank if need be , and he said during the battle of Verdun ( Battle of the Bulge) at one point it was so intense that they had the 105 pointed straight into the forest in front of them , firing away , only to find out afterwards they killed 2 tiger tanks less than 50 yards from their position , he said the rounds from the 105 nearly went through the tigers , very fortunate for him and his crew because had a tiger got a lucky shot and hit that M-7 they'd all be killed, no doubt about it , the M-7 was built using the chassis of a Sherman . I'm kinda new but maybe incorporate some M-7s into these hypothetical battles , I'd be interested in seeing who you'd have them up against

fun fact about the abrams it is shown as the king of all mbts but the Leclerc wich is a french tank from a country mocked from giving up has a better fuel efficient. " It can travel 340 miles before refueling, compared to 260 for the Abrams"

OP, you can just say, "Leaving x (Shermans) left", you don't have to say "leaving there to be". Too many words there. Also a lot of 'Abram' there, which I don't think is correct. I'd say a mistake both parties made in the first engagement was spraying so much machine-gun fire. Tracers work both ways, and to spot an enemy for your team you only really require a short burst. Especially for the Abrams, which was on the defensive, since you can't easily pen a Sherman with 12.7. 9:03 is proof of that. You can't really see the Sherman through the smoke, but with those flashes reflecting off of the roof, it's obvious. Makes sense to hammer tracks though. Very fun/cool concept though. Gaijin **definitely** needs to add some kind of reason/penalty to damaging optics, since in reality that's a huge thing you can do to help disable enemy tanks and make life hell for them, especially when the difference between the two is so great. I'd bet HE rounds, .30 and .50 caliber rounds striking directly at the modern tank's many optics would help a ton. Even if it's as simple as a short repair time before you can re-use driver cam, binos, thermal sights. Even if they had unlimited repairs but you had to take a few seconds to stop and do it, it'd be interesting. Same thing for a gun sight, if disabling it meant you lost the ability to zoom, and/or your sight no longer had the notches indicating distance, etc. 10:37 Wait, that first guy didn't scout it!? 🙃

You could actually calculate this if you have 3 values. The distance between the group of Sherman's and the distance on wicj the Sherman's can reliably Penn the Abrahams, The average speed in m/s And the reload time of that Abraham's. Let's say the Abrahams fires every 8 sec and the Sherman's move at ruffly 29kph (8m/second). The distance the Sherman's need to travel so that the Abrahams will die is 1000m. Every 64m a Sherman dies so you whould need at least 16 Sherman's for the Abrahams to die if the Abrahams stays stationary. (results may differ)
