Thank you for this very informative video. I am in the process of doing this on the street side of my 94 Ecella. However, my 45 degree corners did not come apart. The small right angle "pins" that stabilizer the 45 degree joint were frozen in place and had to be sacrificed to separate the joints. The remaining material left inside the frame has to be drilled and excavated with scratch awl and small files to clean out the corner. Cutting and shaping new pins from aluminum flat stock. Wish I could obtain them from AS...can't help but envision buckets of them in the Rock Guard assembly area. This corner area of the repair is quite "finicky". You did a great job of teaching.

Hello! I am so glad the video was helpful to you. I am sorry your corners weren’t salvageable. Hand making the pins and cleaning out the channel must have added a fair bit of time and work to the project. A metal shop might be able to fabricate them for a few dollars. I know the metal shop near us loves working our unique requests when we roll up with the Airstream. ~Shanna

Oh my gosh! I love that you're talking and explaining portion is going on in the corner while you are also figuring out how to install the new plexiglass.

Thank you for this helpful video! Did you use gray or light gray plexi? Thanks!😊

We used a gray/black plastic. The shop had a bunch of samples and we picked the gray/black that they had in stock since we didn't have time to wait to special order. Thank you for watching!

wonderful job! any chance you'd share the dimensions of the cut plexiglass?

and where did you purchase it?

@gintarezu5420 for estimation purposes each curved piece is about 27 inches by 43 inches. We used a plastics shop in San Antonio, Texas that I found on the internet. They took my old curved piece and flattened it onto a new one and cut the shape and the mirror image piece. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

Nice Job!, They are so fragile. One time at Airstream OH someone called them sun guard. Mine are scratched and stared with rocks. Is it just ordinary plexiglass 1/8? What kind of rivets did you use? Thank You for this video!

Thanks! Glad you found it informative, it is 1/8" plexi glass and 1/8" rivets on the corners. Ours were starred badly, we decided it was time to replace when we finally got a star with a 1/4" hole in the center of it.

@@airstream_wheeler My stars have no holes in them. It all happened when I changed my truck's tires from Goodyear to Michelin Endurance. More aggressive threads than the OEM I had. I then changed the OEM small mudflaps for Duraflaps I measured myself. I have not got a rock on my sun guards since then. on the other hand, the threads have worn, so it's fewer rocks flying up but still, bigger mud flaps helped a lot. I will choose different tires next. I don't want to carry/install Rock Tamer's.

We are really pleased with the results so far. It is nice to look out though the undamaged plexiglass. It won’t last as they have an important job to do but I am enjoying while it lasts.

@@airstream_wheeler I was just trying to say that the sun guards are eating rocks flying off from our own tires, they will last longer if protectected from,,,

We just got new tires too. The rock tamer style mud flaps could be a possible solution. I hadn’t even thought about it. Thanks you.
