Airstream USB Mod! - How to use the twin bed model USB ports without jamming!

As the mattress and blankets move around, they could still be interfering with the USB and 110 Volt. If you are going to go through the trouble of taking the night stand apart, why not just install a pop-up port in the void space behind the drawer? That why it does not interfere with anything.

The goal is/was to move the USB ports to point upwards. This allows you to plug things in from the top, and removes the strain on the connector between the nightstand and mattress that could snap off the connector. As for why not a pop up, we prefer the clean aesthetic and I don't want to drill holes in the nightstand. If neither of those are a concern to you, a pop-up sounds like a great solution. That is a terrible design decision by AS. Is there a reason not to relocate all power to the top of the cabinet so the are more useful?

Greetings! If you don't mind drilling more holes, you could absolutely relocate both the 110v power and USB to the back of the nightstand pointing upwards, there is plenty of space. I know the Flying Cloud and International have the 110v outlet centered in the wall, which is moved to the nightstand on the Globetrotter, likely due to the upholstery that runs across the wall on the GT.
