It is not a quality travel trailer. I’m hemorrhaging money and time, stranded since I picked up my new Pottery Barn, and Airstream has yet to get me back on the road, will not return calls or emails, only replacing the bare minimum, and puts up a harrowing and bullying argument any time I call.

I appreciate them squeezing me in for the tour. It was very interesting and a testament on how a quality product should be built.

If a customer pays up front for the work, will Airstream do custom trailer builds? *For instance- On the Flying Cloud 30 FB Bunk (With rear corner bathroom opposite a camp side optional bunk or office space).. Maybe a customer would like to delete the bunk and office and utilize this space for a stacked washer/dryer. In the Classic 33FB, Maybe a customer would prefer to delete the sofa and lounge area and Increase the kitchen space across that opposite wall adding a larger refrigerator, a stand up freezer, and a stacked washer and dryer forward the rear bathroom.. with an Added Camp side bunk Forward the rear bathroom where the sofa was Located.

So many caravan owners here in Australia can only dream of vans built from the outside in with a large well built door. Expecially those those that have had to replace a fridge or other large part and had to cut the old fridge into pieces just to fit it out the door. Then they can only replace the fridge with a much smaller one to fit through back in the door.

I don’t know if the lady in England still converts old airstreams into British spec but i did however watch a shedload of videos in which the ones that she did convert were done to a fantastic standard and that’s why i enjoy videos like this because it showcases just how much quality and standard that goes into creating these works of art. 🙏

Have been watching a KZbin channel that talks about all the problems people have with RV’s. Then watched a KZbin of a typical RV manufacturing processes built from inside out and was shocked at the poor quality. Impressed that Airstream tests their units for water leaks before the inside is finished. This seems to be the main problem most RV owners have. Must say Airstream proves you get what you pay for.

@beingfrank3321
@beingfrank3321 9 ай бұрын
@Navy1977 we preferred the 30' Classic because the 33' Classic had the recliners perpendicular to the dinette seating. This would make conversations difficult. Whereas the 30' had more of a conversational seating arrangement. When walking into the 30' you are met with an open area with a panoramic view. When you walk into the 33' you are met with a refrigerator. The bedrooms and bathroom in the 30' affords more privacy by being ables to double screen off guests at night. If you have to use the bathroom in the 33' at night you will be passing your guests just to use the bathroom. We do like the fact that the toilet "room" is separate from the shower stall and not contained in one room. While the drop down screen and bathroom in the 33' are really nice, we preferred the 30' due to our lifestyle. I hope this helps.

@garethgrundy8087
@garethgrundy8087 2 жыл бұрын
Do you think diversity should be something that happens unnaturally? How about I go to India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE etc and starting forcing their people to accept people of different cultures into their communities. Just because our ancestors forcefully colonised many other countries in the past does not mean we think the same way as they did. Perhaps this workforce is the way it is because in that part of the US people are not as "diverse" as other parts of the US/wider world. Freedom is what matters. Forcing diversity has nothing to do with freedom, it is exactly the same as forcefully mixing a colony of people.

@@kikidz16 You stated that "the lack of diversity in your workforce is striking". I watched the same footage as you and it did not strike me at all, hence why I noticed your comment and chose to reply, and thankyou for your swift reply too! It certainly is the case where I live that people of different cultures are being forced to live alongside each other. It is also the case where I live that you stand more chance of getting certain types of employment if you are from a minority group. This has become known as "positive discrimination" however I don't really see how any type of discrimination can be referred to as "positive" if it means good rather than bad.
@garethgrundy8087
@garethgrundy8087 2 жыл бұрын
@@kikidz16 I choose to use the word culture because that is the fundamental difference going on. Who you are has more to do with your environmental upbringing than the colour of skin that covers your body. Unfortunately the colour of your skin is the first thing other people know about you so they stereotype you from your appearance. It is what your mind and spirit does that makes you who you are not your skin colour.

Almost bought a used Airstream form Posts in Columbus back in the eighties. Wish I had made the deal. Quite interesting that GM had produced a RV back in the day that kinda mimicked the look of an airstream. I have seen many KZbinrs doing restorations from the frame up on older units. Very time consuming but the end results are fantastic. Back about 25 years ago I heard that one could take their Airstream back to the factory to have the interior upgraded basically a remodel, don’t know if it was true or not but that would be a niche market for the company to get into. Many successful years to the company and its employees!

Thank you for the tour. I am impressed with the water test and the cabinets after the structure process. Many other cheaper trailers use the cabinets to strengthen their sub-par structure of their trailer design. Having said this it is sometimes very difficult to validate your trailers extreme price. I also wish that the air conditioner could be integrated into the trailer rather than on top as it kills the aerodynamics of the original design.

@@Del_Monico No point I guess, just pointing out I saw an area that needed a design change. You just don't use carbon steel bolts up against aluminum long term. A bushing of phenolic or nylon to prevent direct contact while still maintaining the needed structural strength, or a stainless bolt would be better. I liked everything about it I saw when dismantling it, all the more so this issue surprised me.

@@Del_Monico - His point is that they weren't made as great as some people think. I assume they're built better now.

We just received our 2023 Classic RBT. We spent the night at our dealership with full hookups to test everything out. They only had to address a couple of minor problems. One was as simple moving the shelfs that were installed with the top and bottom shelf was reversed. Airstream Quality Control has improved for sure. So far we really love it.

Okay, after we got home we notice the right side doors on the wardrobe closet was not turning the light out when closed. I the pushed on the upper left corner and it is about 1/4 inch away from the wall. I looked to see if the hinges could be adjusted and they are not designed to be. I contacted Airstream support seeing if they could send me a new door. I am waiting to hear back from them after sending them pictures and a video showing what the issue is. I will report back here once I hear back from them.

@@ericandalexlego It appears the only solution is replacing the whole exterior and interior panels. The width on my door opening is 27.5 inches. Others report theirs being 26.25 inches wide. The other option is producing a new door to address the issue. I am waiting to hear exactly what they will decide to do. Due to the weather I can't get back up to the factory until April anyway, so we have some time to figure it out. I will post an update here once things are settled.

I’m not into camping but always thought airstreams seemed very expensive. Was smart to put out this short overview of the process because you can see where that cost comes from. Looks quality, also employing a lot of skilled people.
